Re: OK let's fantasize...if you won the lottery
I know its late and no one will probably see this now but there was an interesting article in NZ about this not too long ago (theirs was a $23M jackpot).
But in summary (the fish smoker is the best - so Kiwi):
HOW WINNERS CELEBRATED
* A beer/glass of bubbly
* A big feed of fish and chips
* Weekend trip to watch Manchester United
* Bungy jump

WHAT WINNERS BOUGHT
* Dentist work

* The house next door
1. Financial planner/attorney to set up trusts for the kid(s), investments, etc.
2. H gets to quit and devote his life to brewing and distilling (well, first learning how to do both of those things)
3. Buy a sweet apartment here in our neighborhood or wait for somebody on Sutton Place South to kick off and then renovate the sh!t out of that place. Or maybe the west village.
3. Buy a vacation house somewhere, possibly the Hudson Valley.
4. A car of our own.
5. Money to family.
6. Charitable donations--we'd have to figure out to whom.
