TTC has been at the forefront of my mind this week since I have a doctor appointment scheduled for Friday.  It's only a consultation type thing (although I would prefer they just do the tests at the same time), but it has me wondering if I should start charting and all that crap.  I really don't want to.  Reading Fallin's comments in another thread about checking cervical position and mucus just makes me feel like quitting.

If you're supposed to just wrap it up for two weeks when you're trying to avoid, you should be fine leaving it unwrapped all the time when you're trying to conceive! Voila!

Cali, it's really not that bad, and it's much easier when you're TTC than TTA. You should try it.  It can't hurt.

So far we seem to be real bad at this game.  I don't know if we're doin' it right.

My reluctance to chart et al is two-fold:
-I'm too lazy to learn all that stuff and do it on a daily basis
-I'm afraid going down the charting rabbit hole will make me go crazy like the people on the Bump.  This is my #1 fear.

  • I just picked up lunch to go and got back to the office to discover that my turkey and avocado sandwich was just avocado and cucumbers on bread with no turkey. That was disappointing.

I've been half-assed charting for the past 2 months (mainly temping).  I can let you know in approximately 4 days if it worked or not.

I agree with you on fearing the crazies on the Bump (and the GP board here).  I just look at it as being more in tune with my body and knowing what's going on.  After 7+ years of BCP, I don't remember what a "regular" cycle is like anymore.

I can understand that. FWIW, I charted for 6 months prior to getting in the family way with Maggie. I never checked my cervix. I only temped, and even then I wasn't always great at it. But it did help me understand my body's signs of ovulation a lot better even without fingering myself on the daily.

I think this is the key.

Plus, I think there are enough ladies here that have charted and not going crazy to reassure you that bump people would most likely have gone insane whether they were charting or not.

  • But I already use the OPK thingies, so I feel like charting is taking a step closer to obsessing about TTC on a daily basis. Right now, I just pee on something for a few days each month and call it good.

Maybe it would help if you put an ovulation calendar in your signature?

    I kid, I kid.

  • According the the nest population, it's really easy to get pregnant while on the pill, so maybe you should try that.

But don't go posting about it on the Getting Pregnant board because they will tear you a new one.

Start hiding her dirty dishes under her bed.  When she finds them, tell her she must have displeased the Dish Fairy.

Lol...that is awesome. I can't fit them under her bed but I'm not opposed to hiding them in her closet. I love her to death but it's seriously irritating.

  • Where were you when I needed ideas for April Fools?!

She's a bit of a gamer so I'm considering hiding the power cord to the Xbox on her days off. That way she has nothing to do but wash! Mwahahahahaha!!!!!

Ha.. Buy a broken XBox for a couple bucks, replace it with her fully functioning XBox.  Tell her the Dish Fairies must be displeased.
