Re: FWP here.
I prefer Death Panels.
I was just reading a post on a forum for healthcare professionals. The post was regarding what to do when doctors are verbally abusive, and several people gave the tired old "Just walk away" line. *headdesk*
Obviously none of them work in procedural areas like I do. Doctors know that no one who wants to remain employed and licensed walks away from a medical procedure in progress (and if you were the patient, would you be OK with this? Doubt it) so they'll abuse the living daylights out of staff during procedures. Newsflash, if walking away always worked, bullying wouldn't exist.
I like IHOP. I like inside jokes and double meanings. Plus, I think it will be hilarious when people think it means pancakes instead of old people.
Oh! Andplusalso, there's that hilarious alzheimers seek cure for pancakes article!
Chrome users: If you copy the image instead of the URL, you can paste right into your reply, but you can't resize. I've found that using google images and copying the slightly larger preview image (the one you get by hovering) usually works well enough.
Another Chrome tip: It will automatically hyperlink a URL if you copy from the address bar, but not if you copy from somewhere else. I haven't yet figured a way to make the link open in a new window or to edit the text.
I don't know, IIOY - leaving out the words "Social Security" from your very well-versed expression above seems like a grand omission.
I hate to say it, but I really don't think you should plan on having it. And I'm not the only one to think/say so, and I'm hardly the smartest person about it.
It makes me see red if I dwell on it too long.
My older design Kindle doesn't have Wifi, so if I check out library books I have to download them from Amazon to my laptop and copy them over. WTF can't they do library books over Whispernet like they do purchased books?
Also FWP Kindle related, all I really want for Christmas/my birthday/etc. is Kindle books, because we're planning on moving in a year or so and I'm trying to get as little new sh!t as possible. My relatives that use my Amazon wish list never get me one because they want to give me a physical thing. Damn selfish generous bastards.
(Background: As a professor, 70% of my job is research, and my area of research is sports media).
I don't think the 3 Tivo's I currently own are going to be sufficient to record and store all the Olympic coverage I want to record for the studies I want to do. I think I need to buy another Tivo.
I badly need a haircut. It's past my shoulders and is pissing me off. However it's almost impossible to get into my normal stylist (she usually books 2-3 months out).
I also don't know what I want to do. I'm bored with what I have right now. Hmph.

Confession - I just now realized FWP = first world problem (yes, I googled and got only "friends with privileges"). I thought this was just a bitching post, and I'm not sure if my previous post qualifies as a FWP.
I mean, it's not like it's just blanketed in it. But it hadn't been vacuumed in the previous 5 minutes. And given that our behemoth of a cat likes to roll around on his back on said carpet, it's pretty much guaranteed to have hair on it.
To bring it full circle: I keep chiding the cat about being fat. I think I'm giving him an eating disorder.
Just reading this makes my nose and eyes twitch.
OMG I love Hawaii. LOVE. We might do another trip later this year - we were looking at Kona in august but the baby will be too young I think, so maybe Feb.
Now Iceland could also be super cool.
