Can we make book recommendations in this post?
Re: Can we make book recommendations in this post?
I read this not too long ago because of all the recommendations here and I hated it. I generally enjoyed the story but I felt like the author had an agenda and I could've told the story more effectively with a more neutral tone.
I'm currently reading How to be an American Housewife by Margaret Dilloway. It's fluff, but it's enjoyable fluff.
My Cooking Blog
Lionel Shriver's We Need to Talk About Kevin is a worthwhile read.
Room (Emma Donahue) was pretty good if you haven't read it yet.
On the non-fiction side, Drift (Rachel Maddow) and Other People's Children (Lisa Delpit) are on my to-read list. It's been awhile since I've read a NF book... I've been on a dystopian lit bender lately.
I'll be downloading this and I'll let you know if it's bullshiit or not
I loved it. I tend to love all things Neil Gaiman, though.
I'm also a long-time King fan, and I started 11/22/63 in the hospital, waiting for my contrax to get regular (I soon put it down, though ;-))--I haven't picked it up since.
Please do! I'd love to know what you think and discuss.
I'm currently reading:
Fluff - To Defy a King by Elizabeth Chadwick
Slightly less Fluff - Elizabeth I by Margaret George
Not fluff - Founding Gardeners by Andrea Wulf. Actually quite interesting.
I tried reading Tony Blair's memoir but just couldn't get into it. I'm finding that my recreational reading needs to be on the lighter side these days.

Yes. Definitely. That book got under my skin and I still think about it months later.
