Open to anyone who wants to challenge themselves--how long can you hold a plank? I'll post check in on Mondays.
Post your time,, position(elbows/toes, hands/knees, hands/toes, etc.), and/or any goals you wish to include. Good luck!

When we did this last summer I had gotten up to 3 minutes. I doubt I can do that again in my current state, but I would love to see what I can do today.
Elbows & Toes always ends up hurting my shoulders before my abs give up. Guess that means I need to strengthen my hsoulders too?

1:48 elbows and toes.
A tip: if you're sliding, then you're most likely not at the right angle with your arms. Make sure your elbows are right under your shoulders.
I said I was slipping, but it may have been the wrong word. More like I was starting to feel some mild rug burn from the pressure on my forearms. I think that a yoga mat or regular gym floor surface would have been a better choice. Either way, I'll try again at the gym this afternoon - with mirrors I'll be able to check my form, as well.

Yeah. that too. It was horribly boring
I held it for 1:05 on elbows/toes
It would be cool to be able to do it for 3 minutes!
2012 Races: 3/18 Shamrock Shuffle 5k; 4/14 E.R. Race for Autism 5k (PR! 25:58); 6/9 Riudoso Sprint Triathlon; 6/24 Chunky Monkey 10K; 7/29 Cochiti Lake Olympic Triathlon; 9/16 Chips & Salsa 1/2 Marathon; 10/21 Duke City 1/2 Marathon; 12/2 Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon in Vegas!
2:00 at the end of my workout- I could have gone a little longer, but was only aiming for 2 min. I did lift my right leg up for 30 sec, then the left for 30 sec, then did standard plank form for the remaining minute.
Planking for long amounts of time is boring, so I'm working towards harder variations for shorter amounts of time.
