S/O of my quad post

Ok while at church I was in the ladies room and noticed that my thigh is starting to bruise. Does that mean I tore some of the muscle?

I put icy hot on it while at church and now have ice on it, then I will do moist heat. I do not have a ace bandage right now so it will have to wait till tomorrow.

Re: S/O of my quad post

  • When did this happen again?  I normally suggest ice only for the first 48-72 hours after an injury, and if there's bruising it's probably best not to put heat on it.  I don't have any personal experience with torn muscles, but if you haven't done anything else to cause the bruise, you might want to see a doctor about it.

  • Yeah, no heat if it's bruised.

If it FEELS like a tear but is bruising, now you're into the realm that it's either a muscle tear (which could bust blood vesicles causing the bruising)  OR it could be that your bruised the BONE and the vesicles around it.
