Re: This week's Fat Tuesday post...

  • IHO Fat Tuesday, and to help us sail to 5 pages, I had to buy new jeans today, since I couldn't button the 4 pairs I tried on this morning, at my house.  That was enough to recommit me to the gym.
  • Page 5! We did it!

  • Since my hair is all au natural now, I signed up for a water aerobics classes. I'm excited because I love swimming and there's a great indoor pool near my house.

I'm relatively new to *liking* exercise, but I'm onboard with the idea that liking what you're doing is the key to sticking with it.  Not to mention, water makes for great resistence with low joint impact.  So YAY for water aerobics!!

I hurt my foot a number of years ago and was supposed to stay off of it.  I wasn't exercising regularly then, but I wasn't even supposed to walk much.  I felt so gross.  So I signed up for water aerobics because it was the only thing I could do.  I LOVED it.  So much fun!

  • Also?  Page 5?

    I love y'all so much.

    A five-page Fat Tuesday and nobody's upset?

You've made all my dreams come true.

I think it's also been a while since the last mommy war.  I saw something on NY Times about Attachment Parenting and Feminism and left it alone so we could continue the smooth sailing.

    But now I'm bored.

There is no DQ around here. NYC doesn't have a lot of stuff that the rest of the country has - Sonic, Chick-Fil-A, Arby's, etc.

    The nearest one's in Jersey.

    I am serious...and don't call me Shirley.
  • Nobodys upset?? Did you SEE my Chickfila post???

I want ice cream. Or a milkshake. Or both.  The only thing that stopped me from stopping at McDonald's after my doctor's appointment was that it was too early for them to have milkshakes.

Speaking of fat, apparently I have a fat baby.  The doctor says 'that's no seven pounder, that's for sure," while looking concerned and taking belly measurements. Big babies run in my family. No, not big, HUGE babies.  And in DH's family too.   The whole pregnancy baby has been measuring normally and now all of a sudden he's huge.  (well maybe not, this was just her estimate based on what she could feel, not even based on a growth scan.)

still.  I want the ice cream to comfort me after this news but I have a feeling it could be part of the issue. Crying

    OMG you are so close!!!!

I hope your dr is wrong and baby isn't too big!

ETA my anecdote is that my OB felt and estimated SST to be 8, 8 1/2 pounds the day I went into labor. She was 6 lb 9 oz. So estimations can be wildly off.

That's what they said about P, too, and we have huge babies in my family.  But he was 6 lbs. 6 oz. but almost 22" long.

  • Just to let you all know, I capped off fat tuesday by having frozen yogurt - "sweet tart" and "cookies and cream" flavor with a variety of toppings you dont want to know about, including but not limited to sprinkles, butterfinger pieces, and cherries.  Among others.

The best part? this place is 6 blocks from our house, maybe.  it makes for a nice quick walk with the doggies.  But last night, H drove me and circled the block in our minivan while I went inside to get my ice cream.
