Re: Dude, pixy, really?
In that case, I can see a bit of inconsistency. Reeve mentions lots about his book in his post. Even where to buy it. Is it okay because you started the post about it? (honest question)
I personally could care less about him or HAB posting about their products here and think it's amazing that they've accomplished their pursuits (in HAB's soon to be, I guess).
I don't like spammers, they've (Reeve and HAB) got established personalities on the board.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that perhaps her hypothetical future store would contain sh*t she's sewn. Possibly also things she's smocked, because she talks about smocking fairly frequently. Just a shot in the dark.
THIS wins the internet today. Brava.
I'll jump in.
I don't think Pixy was wrong (though I didn't read the deleted text) to edit HABs post if she felt it violated TOS. No one is saying TN makes any sense or that it's logical, but the mod. *has* to follow TOS.
I do think it was best to delete the Reeve post.
I am dying at the sheer ridiculousness of all this. It's against the TOS to promote products you haven't decided to sell yet. But the MODERATOR can make posts promoting the products of her internetz friendz.
HEY Y'ALL I'M GONNA MAKE A BLANKET OUT OF YARN AND STUFF, AND I MIGHT SELL IT ON ETSY. MAYBE.
*waits*
Updated September 2012.
Does it matter that Reeve's product is a book, and TN doesn't try to sell books? (or does it? But they do try to sell the kind of stuff Etsy sells?
It's a big part of what gets "special attention." Etsy a few years back was flooding the boards. Everyone had a store and was pushing their products. It became a real problem, so much that they decided to point blank just start banning people.
The photography board also operates under stricter rules than the rest of TB/TN because it could easily cross over into competing with sponsor/vendor goods.
