Anyone embracing pale skin for the summer?
Re: Anyone embracing pale skin for the summer?
This is similar to how I feel. I actually think our paranoia about the sun and therefore vitamin D deficiencies cause other diseases as well. I am olive skinned, tan very easily (burn almost never), and struggle extremely with getting enough vitamin D living in Seattle. Very occasional tanning bed use helps my vitamin D levels as well as my eczema (always supervised by a doctor). I make sure to wear a full spectrum sunscreen on my face at all times (and still tan), but I find sunlight another important component for overall health. My family also has no cases of skin cancer, and my mom has great skin and she spent her entire childhood running around in the sunshine in Texas and California.
DH does have much higher risk, so he sticks to vitamin D supplements and gets checked regularly for moles.

Are you my long lost twin? This is me exactly, I have been rocking pale my entire life. My skin tone has been referred to as translucent a time or too. I'll pass on the cancer thanks!
