this is KILLING me, dying laughing at all the responses...I freaking hate these too

    I like the bolded theory.

    I like privacy. A lot.

    they make me INSANE.

insane.  and i always think about the (admittedly unlikely) security risks.  like some pedophile is going to be all "oh yes, the toyota.  THREE little ones in that car."

there's this kid in L's class at school who i find annoying (he HITS ME).  anyway, i saw that his parents have those decals on their car (this is an anomoly at my kid's daycare).  and i was all "oh, makes sense.  the whole family is cracked."

For the same reason, I don't like the "my kid is an honor student at such and such school" and "go my kid's sports team." I wouldn't want to make it easier for someone to find my kid whether they're a pedophile or pissed off at my driving.

  • The only thing I have on my car is an autism speaks puzzle piece.  I do plan to put Obama swag back on my car closer to the election.  This makes me a little nervous, but I'm doing it anyway.
  • imagehuber22:
I hate them and the security risks that come with them. Especially when the damn things are named.

This is what I think of every time I see them.

I have a peace frog on my back window.

See my post on the polyamorous chick a few days ago... This is her family once she finishes having kids.

  • No, I'm with nicoleabrook.  Down with stickers.  Although I reserve the right to change my mind on this subject at any time.

I saw an odd one the other day that had a whole family, and then one small stick figure kid on the other side of the car away from the rest of the family.

    poor sad stick kid.

    Step kid.

And I HATE the "My dog is smarter than your honor student". Strikes me as trashy.

  • I am completely judge-y about stickers or decals on cars. I honestly figure that my vehicle choice makes enough of a statement that I don't need to validate it. It's a mode of transportation, not a sticker book or a facebook wall.

  • I saw one where the entire family had mickey mouse ears. Ew.

And the one a varying sized flip flops is no better.

From the great mind of Violet_McPurpleson:
  • I do not like those. I never liked any stickers but I put on with the name of the half marathon race I did. I don't like the 13.1 stickers, but I liked the race one.

  • no, and i never will. i think most stickers are tacky.

however, i don't think they're more of a safety concern than the sports decals stickers that have the kids name and team number on them. those do give me pause.

    image
  • yep! lol

And I am all anxious b/c I don't have one for the baby yet! (i don't do the pets, though)

  • I have an Obama sticker and an NPR sticker.  lol.

And even more nauseating, when the dog breed is specified. Losers.

I am not into stickers, but I do have 'dog is my copilot' so judge me, I don't care.

My H has had a Check Your Head sticker on every vehicle he's had bc that is just the general sentiment he throws out there.

  • They don't bother me, but sometimes, I'll see two people, two kids, and like fifteen animals.  Or ten kids.

I think they are cheesy, but the "security risk" stuff amuses me. Who would guess a minivan with three carseats in it might carry children. Without the decals you could go incognito.
  • lol, no and I never will. But they don't bother me, either.
