Young House Love is annoying
Re: Young House Love is annoying
Same here! It was SB's comment about the lawn that got me thinking "waaaaait a second ..."
Husbands should be like Kleenex: Soft, strong, and disposable.
I differ in opinion. They are great at what they do. I have remodeled, decorated and redecorated, bought or built seven houses over the last forty years and am an artist with a good sense of decorating and creativity. I applaud them for having that much focus, energy and creativity to not only see the vision, but to actually do the hard labour to make it happen, taking all the time it takes to document, then post it and they are in their thirties?? That is a ton of dedication and commitment.
Do I fall in love with everything? Of course not! That is not the point of reading a blog or looking at what someone else has done. It is to inspire you to think creatively and hopefully give you the motivation to try to do things yourself using some of the basic ideas they are showing.
They are writing a blog so yes they are going to talk about their child and dog etc. And they use Ikea. That is their perogative and makes it personal as opposed to scripted. Sure they are going to write about safety measures, who would want to be responsible should someone get hurt while doing a project they inspired?
As you grow older, the good basic design sense you formulate from sites like this will be invaluable to you. If you want to buy more quality furnishings no one is stopping you.
Working from home sounds heavenly, but the key word is"working". I applaud their endeavors and wish them the best.
