NOLA Hotel recommendations...

Re: NOLA Hotel recommendations...

  • We stayed at the Hilton and it was across from the Casino. It was also with in walking distance of burbon and everything like that.
  • When I went with my mom back in 2005 we stayed at the French Quarter Courtyard and their sister hotel next door(French Quarter Suites). I liked the FQC better, it just seemed like a typical french quarter hotel. We had a poolside room and the room had cool brick floors.

Edit:They are both on Rampart St. which is the northern boundary of the FQ, but within walking distance to everything. So you can get the convenience of the FQ, but still be able to get away from the craziness.

  • My parents stayed at the Royal Sonesta for the 25th anniversary and loved it!!!  I don't remember where they stayed when they went in 2003 though.
  • My mom and I stayed at the Hotel Provencial on our last visit, which overlooks Decatur St and the French Market (and is also supposedly haunted.)

Our next trip, we are finding a B&B in the Garden District

I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

  • We stayed there for Christmas and stayed at the Hyatt which was nice, however parking was $32 a night for self parking. We parked 2 blocks away at Drury Inn for $12 a night and it ended up being only $12 for our entire stay.

  • We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn a couple years ago and loved it!
