I've been rejected from 4 jobs recently that I thought the interview went well. I have never had a problem getting a job before and every single job I have ever had I was hired the same day. People keep telling me it is the economy but I think maybe it is me.
Does anyone have any suggestions on resources I could use to help me interview? I've gone to a few recruiting agencies to get some help but they just had me take skills tests, chatted for 15 minutes, then said we'll call if we have something for you. Not the kind of feedback I was looking for.
I am 10 years out of college and about 4 hours from my college so their career center probably isn't an option for me.
I have asked people who have rejected me for feedback but they just give me the standard "you were great but we found a candidate that was a better fit."
My friends are too nice and if we did a mock interview would say I did lovely (I tried this with my husband and he said that he would have hired me on the spot - sweet but not helpful).
Thanks for your advice.
Re: I am starting to get a complex.
Although you graduated 10 yars ago, you could try to contact your alumni association to see if there are any career help options.
Is it possible that you are too eager/desperate for a job and send off that vibe?
What are you wearing to the interviews?
If you are landing this many interviews than obviously your resume is great.
Do you know anyone in an HR dept who could mock interview you and video record it and then critique your interview?
