The radon test came back with a high reading, sooooo this means we have to install a radon mitigation system - anyone have any experience with this? How much is this gonna cost? Any recomendations on who to use? This house stuff stinks!!
TIA

When we put an offer in on a house 7 years ago, I think the quote we got was around $1300. (Needless to say, we ended up walking away from that house.)
We still have to test at our house. How much is the test? I can't recall from the last time we bought. I'm pretty sure it's going to be high. I think most new houses are b/c they're built so tight that it traps all of the radon inside the basement.
We had a system at our old house, but the sellers installed it. I think it was around $1500. But they had to drill through the foundation and I'm pretty sure the hookup for the system Ryan homes is already in place so it should be less. Our old one worked great though. It wasn't noticable and it did the job. Never had any issues w/ it in the 6 yrs we were there.
This sounds about right, when we went to buy our first house it tested high. we got a quote for the mitigation system, sent that to the owners & they agreed to pay to have it installed.
