Monday confessions

Re: Monday confessions

  • I upgraded my iPhone on Friday because I wanted a case that only fit on a iPhone 5. AT&T offered me $200 for my 4s and a new 5 for $200. All I had to pay was tax. I promptly stopped an Nordstrom on my way home to get my new case.

I hosted a baby sprinkle for a friend at my house yesterday, and Liam went over to her belly, put his little chubby hands on it, said "hi baby!", then kept coming over to hug her belly.  My heart melted, and my uterus started to cry.

we've said over & over again that we were done with 2, then I see stuff like that and get other ideas!!!  Indifferent

My uterus cries every time I walk past all that baby stuff collecting dust in the basement.  I totally feel your pain and confusion!

  • What we could probably do is apply to be the Real Housewives of Pittsburgh; we could tape a few scenes each week, make some money off of Bravo, and retire.  I'd need to set aside a separate budget of course for makeup (have you noticed the ridiculous amounts of makeup all of those women wear??  Just to go to like, a coffee shop?)

haha, I loved your logic of needing a new phone to fit an awesome case!  Great deal on the phone though!

You are a genius.  We totally need to do this.  I think I will be the Caroline of the group.

Seriously, have you ever seen how different Theresa looks without make up?

YES!  they are totally different people without makeup, it's crazy.  And do most rich people just have a makeup artist on hand for every day purposes?  I had no idea that came with the territory until I started watching this show.  I mean, I knew celebrities did, or that really rich people would have an artist for special occasions....but you watch the beverly hills women, they're getting their make up done by a professional to go out to dinner with some friends!

I've never seen ATT give money for an old phone. Did you talk to them in store about doing that? That's a great deal. Steve's up for renewal soon, and I may have to look into that option.

Nope, got an email and went in. They looked it up and said I could do it. I wasn't eligible for an upgrade until November. I thought maybe they were getting desperate for refurbished phones.

A family friend actually is involved in RH casting. He was telling my mom all about the housewives a couple years ago at a wedding. It was kinda wasted on her though since she doesn't watch. My dad thought it was just ridiculous. He did say that they have been trying to cast a Houston show and just cannot find anyone they think people would watch.

  • We got the results of our home inspection back and we seriously may just walk.  There are way too many major issues that need to be fixed and it would add up really fast.

That sucks! I'm sorry but it is better to know now than be surprised later.

I'm all in on this!! And we need a personal trainer budget. I want to be one of those people who say it's part of my job to be in shape. If someone paid me to go to the gym all the time I'd totally go! If anyone wants to try for next summer maternity leave that's my plan. Though, Tim isn't on board yet so I guess that could prove to be a problem. ;)

  • Good luck Megan and Dawn!

The older my kids get, the more I fantasize about being a SAHM, which probably goes against most logic.  But I did the SAHM thing when I was laid off when Jake was 18 months old, totally not for me.  However, now that I can picture getting him onto the bus in the morning and being there to pick him up, sending Liam to a smaller preschool program just a few days a week so I'd still have some time to myself...well, that picture looks a bit more rosy to me!!!  :)

ME TOO! I mean, I have always wanted to SAH, but lately all I do is fantasize about quitting my job to spend time with Lanna this summer before she goes off to K, and then finally getting to spend time with Wes as a SAHM for a year or so before he starts preschool. It makes no sense to do that at this point I'm sure, since we're done having babies, but it's so tempting. I just want to be there for Lanna when she gets home from school to help her with homework and hear about her day and not feel so rushed and stressed all the time. And, in my head, I'd be a much better wife because again I wouldn't be so stressed out all the time trying to manage things at home and work. The thing is that we can definitely live on H's salary, so it isn't totally out of the question... I just don't want to give up my PT job and then regret it. On the flip side, I don't want to look back some day and regret not doing it either!
