Watching the 1st episode of the new Real World

and there's a guy from PA (Gettysburg), and he is the "bumpkin."  Not like the usual midwestern dumb girl bumpkin, but he's definetly the bumpkin.

It does look like it'll be an interesting season, which I'm probably too old to be watching (or to admit I'm watching...)

Re: Watching the 1st episode of the new Real World

  • I still watch it mostly on the weekends.  The upcoming previews always suck me back for more.  I remember when I was a teenager and wanting to be on the Real World.  HOw times have changed!

Oh I so wanted to be on Road Rules... I would have picked either but Road Rules would have been my choice, because you won kick ass prizes.

  • I remember almost crying the day I realized I was too old to audition to be on the Real World (not that I ever would have).  24 seemed too young to be too old for anything.
  • Sigh, I tried to get away from watching this show too but we watched the first episode and it seems like it might be a good season.  They are some interesting characters.

  • I really try to avoid MTV, but with their trainwreck TV shows, like RW and The Hills it just sucks me in. I watched the first episode and it was very interesting... if I continue to watch I'm sure it'll be an interesting season to say the least!

  • I didn't see it but I usually catch them on weekends when they do those marathons of them.  I put them on while I do housework.

My DH graduated with him!!! Smile   He said he's absolutely not a "bumpkin" IRL - just a "goofball" (DH's word) and was pretty nice - involved in lots of film/directing stuff in HS.  His dad apparently teaches music/band at our MS.  Makes sense, though, that the show would portray him as the bumpkin, coming from our tiny little town!

    Small world!

  • I usually don't post...just a lurker! But I work in Gettysburg and they actually did some filming here for the current season. The cast was involved in some charity bike ride from Gettysburg to NY during the fall and came to volunteer. They were supposed to come to our business but bailed out at the last minute. I know that they got a tour of the battlefield and had dinner at the Pike. So it will be interesting to see if any of the Gettysburg footage makes it on air!

That's cool to know.  I'll definitely out to watch for it.
