NBR: Fall Wardrobe

I am dying to go shopping for some new fall clothes (and seriously avoiding work).  I tell myself that if I keep up my exercise and lose some weight it will be my little reward.  So now I'm just doing a lot of browsing.

Is there anything you have your eye on for this fall?  Or do you have a staple that you think everyone could use for their fall wardrobe?  Pictures are always a plus :)

Re: NBR: Fall Wardrobe

  • This is an excellent question.  I just moved back to Boston and realized, "Wow.  I actually need to buy clothes for different seasons."

  • I want some new boots. I don't have any picked out but my sister has some cute ones that I'll try to find. I need new sweaters too. A few of the ones I bought last year started pilling almost instantly.  >:P

  • I would love to update my wardrobe  but I can't justify spending the money when I'm home with Audrey all day.  I did just buy a couple pairs of jeans on clearance at Target so I'm excited to pair those with some boots!  Boots...yes, I probably will by some more boots.  Don't tell DH.

  • I have been on the quest to find some similar boots every Fall for some time. They are not hard to find, but I am short and they all come too far up my leg and look goofy IMO.

I want some pretty black boots.  Either with a heel or a wedge.

I can't wait to wear leggings again.  They are my favorite non-pants to wear.

I need to update my wardrobe too! I have a lot of old clothes that really need to go, but I am so bad about getting rid of clothes.

  • I bought my riding boots in the spring, but it's been too hot to wear them.  I can't wait to wear them again.  I also live in cardigans.  Ugh, I should fit into my prepregnancy clothes in the next month to six weeks, but that's all boring.

ACTUALLY!  I remember that when I was super pregnant, J told me he thought I deserved to go shopping when I wanted to after Wes was born.  I've been holding off because I'm not back to my size yet, but it's motivation.  He's going to regret telling me that.  My usually shopping is piecemeal.

What do you guys think is a reasonable amount to go shopping? I know it varies, but it won't include shoes.  Probably a few pairs of jeans/pants, a dress or two, some sweaters/tops and maybe some jewelry.

I think we should add some shopping to our agenda ;)

I have no idea how much is reasonable though.  I never know when I'm going to be outraged at how much something costs or when I am feeling like a splurge is justified.

  • Speaking of clothing.  @sassypants527 (I think) posted about a library shirt dress from Ralph Lauren.  Or, at least I think it was RL.  I can't find it anywhere.  Did anyone else have any success? I'm thinking it's a great dress to go with my boots.

I was thinking that.  I'm going to try to set some WW goals for that date, so it will be perfect timing.

I think it was Tommy Hilfiger.  I looked for it too but it's not for sale on their website.

  • I desperately need new fall clothes.  I lost about 15 pounds since last fall and nothing fits me anymore.

I REALLY want a few new cashmere sweaters.  I just wish I could justify the cost of them.

I also need boots (not practical boots, but really hot, pretty boots).

And some dress pants would be nice.  I only have one pair of black pants that fit me.  I suppose I could bring all my pants, skirts and dresses from last fall to the tailor but it is way more fun to just start over and buy new stuff.

I like fall colors, esp the browns and dark colors.
Ok I cant get my pics to work for some reason today... So I like this outfit, but will probably end up wearing this since I live in Colorado and it does what it wants as far as seasons are concerned. I think its fall- Colorado thinks this is the Antarctica.

  • @booneybear I want a cashmere sweater too, but I can't make myself do it.  I saw a cashmere scarf that I was considering, but it was still too pricey for me.

I would love to go fall clothing shopping. However i am still waiting to get maternity pay. No income for over a month sucks. Plus i have no idea what will fit. But i do need new boots...
  • I like a lot of fitted shapes.  I tend to gravitate toward pencil skirts, fitted dresses, turtleneck sweaters.  I try to stay away from layering too much because I am small and too many layers make me look ridiculous.

    I love these looks

  • I went to BR this weekend and bought a few things.  I got some skinny black pants (they called them leggings, but they are pants). I am ready for it to be fall, so I can wear them with boots.  But, it probably won't be cold enough until December.  I'll most likely wear them when we go to visit family in december.  I miss buying sweaters and warm clothes, but DH won't let me justify it here.  I was able to get a sweater dress last year since his family took professional pictures at Christmas.  I wish I could get some cute clothes.  Friends and family at BR made me want to shop more.  Anyone want to find cute warm clothes for me for when we go to Hawaii in Oct?

  • @84Lauren We don't have much of a fall here, but I still love fall clothes! As soon as the weather drops at all, I make an excuse to bring out my boots.
