1) Do you watch Football? What team do you root for? Yes. We root for the Dolphins. We also watch college football and root for the Canes. Both won last weekend - WOOP. 

2) What is your favorite thing about Fall? Fall in Miami is really still summer. I love Thanksgiving, so we'll go with that. 

3) Where were you when you heard what was happening on 9/11/01? I was in class. When the first plane hit, we thought it was just an accident, but when the second plane hit as we were watching live, everyone lost it. It was such a sad, scary day.

2) What is your favorite thing about Fall? Cooler weather. Being able to wear boots again! Alas, it has been in the lower 90's around here, so I have a ways to go yet.

3) Where were you when you heard what was happening on 9/11/01? I used to go over to my parent's house and have coffee with my mom every day before work. I was walking in the door and my mom was like, "Uh, get in here and sit down. There is some crazy shit happening."

2) What is your favorite thing about Fall? Pumpkin everything. Scarves. Boots. The leaves changing. Cool enough to warrant layers, warm enough not to need a real jacket.

1) Do you watch Football? What team do you root for? College football more so than NFL. I went to the University of Virginia, so I watch them, which can sometimes be painful. Wahoowa!  I also am an Indianapolis Colts fan, despite living nowhere near Indy.

Sweaters, Sweater dresses, Halloween decorations, and all of the treats! Pumpkin everything. Yes!

I was a freshman in high school.  Our schedule had been all funky because we had an assembly that morning. My first period class had made the decision not to tell us, but when I got to my second period class no one was there. Everyone was in the classroom next door watching the TV. The rest of the day is kind of a blur.

3) Where were you when you heard what was happening on 9/11/01?  I was 22 and had just gotten in my car to go to work. I heard the news on the radio and thought the DJs were pulling a prank. I had lunch with my mom at a Chinese restaurant. Later at work I noticed that my boss and several others were moving around in a way that wasn't normal (a lot of going up to the conference room and people coming in and out of our office.). I didn't see the news until I got home that evening and I could only watch for about 15 minutes.

My husband was in the Army and received word and was in a plane circling for the day waiting for deployment instructions. (I hadn't met him yet.)

1.  No football.  DH doesn't care for it either.

2.  I love wearing sweaters, needing to drink something warm, and the heavier fall and winter foods - soups, stews, chili, roasts.

3.  I was teaching - a student came in and told the class that the Sears Tower had been bombed.  I looked online and found out the truth.

1) Do you watch Football? What team do you root for? Football is a HUGE deal in the south. I LOVE football. I stay local and cheer for the Saints and LSU (college).

2) What is your favorite thing about Fall? We don't get Fall weather, so I'd have to say football and Halloween.

3) Where were you when you heard what was happening on 9/11/01? I lived in CA then, so by the time I woke up it was all over the news. I was in shock.

I love to watch football. I don't really have a team, but I do watch Green Bay and the Dolphins regularly.

I was actually in class at college. I had an 8am class and the teacher made an announcement.

1.  I watch pro football.  I never got into college football.  I'm a Broncos fan and mh is a Jets fan.  We don't speak during the football season when our teams play each other.  lol

2.  Our wedding anniversary.

3.  I was at work on the phone trying to give directions.  I happened to open up CNN.com and saw that a plane had hit the WTC.  I got off the phone and logged into a work related chat that I had been having and watched the second plane hit the second tower.  My boss came running into my office a few minutes later, yelling to everyone that we were under attack.  We ran all around the building trying to find a TV with a signal.  I think he eventually wound up at the security desk and watched it.  I tried to stream it to my computer but everything was effed up.

My building was put on lockdown because we were a government contractor and we kept hearing stories that any company with a tie to the federal government was going to be hit in a second wave of attacks coming by bus/fire truck/police car/ambulance.  We had no clue what to believe so upper management locked us in for safety but no work got done that day.

That was one of the longest days of my life.

1) Do you watch Football? What team do you root for?  Honestly I'll watch just about any game that's on. I love football, and it makes great background noise. As an alumna of each I always root for Purdue and Penn State. For professional games it's the Bears and the Colts.

2) What is your favorite thing about Fall?  Um, everything. :-) Sweaters, hot chocolate, leaves changing, crock pot meals, Halloween, our wedding anniversary, Thanksgiving. Everythign just feels cozy.

 

3) Where were you when you heard what was happening on 9/11/01?  I was a junior in college sitting in an Ancient Eastern Asian History class. Our professor came in crying and told us class was cancelled and that we should all go home and call the people we love and tell them. I spent most of the day numb on the couch in my apartment with my roommate then went to the candlelight vigil on campus that night. We were all so stunned.

3) Where were you when you heard what was happening on 9/11/01? Senior year of high school. I was leaving a National Honors Society meeting and in the hallway someone said what had happened. I didn't believe them until I got to my French class and my teacher was crying and had the news on. We didn't do anything else in school that day.

2) What is your favorite thing about Fall? Delicious treats!  Apples, cider, pies, pumpkin... yum!

3) Where were you when you heard what was happening on 9/11/01? I was in high school and we had one of those weird half days that started at like ten.  My boyfriend was sweet enough to pick me up for school every morning and we were watching tv at his house before having to go to school.

@CeeCeeSugaPie thank you for your service! If you don't mind me asking, how did this affect your leave/discharge? Were you called back? I imagine it would have been a hard time of uncertainty, especially as others you had served with were gearing up for a response and eventual war.

1) Do you watch Football? What team do you root for? I like college better than pro and since I went to Penn State and now work for Penn State, I still root for PSU. We are Steelers fans as well. I think it's going to be a looooong season for Steelers fans

3) Where were you when you heard what was happening on 9/11/01? I was in my college dorm and my brother's friend im'd (remember AIM?) me to turn on the news. I went to my poetry class and there we found out the second plane had hit. Terrifying.

1) Do you watch Football? What team do you root for? I HATE football. With a passion. MH, who is beyond obsessed with the game, made me pick a favorite team, so I picked Dallas because they happened to be on the TV at the moment he asked.

2) What is your favorite thing about Fall? Everything. The food, the clothes, the weather, the activities, Thanksgiving, Halloween, back to school. I love it all.

I was sitting in fashion class in grade 11.  My teacher (whose H was a commercial pilot) got called out to take a phone call and came back to tell us what was happening. We were then taken to another classroom where there was a television so that we could watch what was happening.
