NBR: iOS7

So, what's the verdict?  What do you think?

Is anyone else having trouble with connecting to WiFi?  Last night, both my iPhone and iPad wouldn't stay connected.  It could have been the actual WiFi, but it was awfully coincidental.  I think I saw Hoycie was having issues with battery life.  I haven't noticed this yet.  Has anyone else?

  • I stay away from new updates until they work some of the kinks out.  I'll let you girls let me know if it's all-wonderful and when everything is working well.

  • I have noticed my battery is going quicker but I actually really like the new iOS.  I was at 100% this morning and have listened to my audiobook for about an hour then Pandora for 30 mins. and am down to 76% when normally I'd only be down maybe 85%.  I'm not having issues connecting to the wifi either on the ipad or my phone.  My favorite feature is the control panel which I actually used this morning when I thought I heard Wylie getting sick and the light switch is on the other side of the room.  Thanks, Apple!

I also like that the Apps will auto-update so I don't have to go in and click Update All.  I haven't tried iTunes radio yet but DH says that Pandora better watch out it's that good.

@packfan20 WORD. I made DH download it on his phone first. Then I can play with it to see if I like it before downloading on my phone. :)

  • I love it.  The only thing I don't love is the battery life.  They better fix it soon or I don't see myself being an iPhone user much longer.

YES! I hate when I have like 20 apps waiting to update.  And I can't use the phone really since they are all "waiting" for like 20 minutes.

I HATE notifications.  It totally ruins the screen. Even Facebook.  I'd rather not have the red number there and just find out later what I'm missing.  I feel like I'm clicking it 100 times a day to get rid of it.

  • I love it! iTunes radio is amazing, but I recommend creating your own stations and using the featured one.

My battery life is about the same and I'm running on a 4S, my battery wasn't all that great anyways because it's an older phone.  I would recommend restarting your phone, I had to do that for a couple things and it improved my phone overall.

I really love the new dynamic backgrounds.

  • @ThisModernLove @jenndawnp How does iTunes radio compare to Spotify?
    image imageimage
  • @MrsC7 I think it is a better selection, less weird crap you've never heard of.  I have iTunes match so I'm getting no ads!!! It's only 25 dollars a year for match.  There are some bugs still, sometimes you'll hear 2 songs in a row but it maintains your likes and dislikes, unlike the Spotify iPhone app.  That alone makes it worth it to me.

  • I updated my iPad, and I'm loving the changes! I love that in Safari, you can swipe to go back a page in your browser, loving the control panel, AND loving that the camera app now has the square photo option, since sometimes it's easier for me to snap a pic with the camera, then bring it into IG, and it'll be great for using with BeautifulMess.

I ordered a 5c, which should be here today, and I can't wait to play around with it!

  • @MrsC7 I never used Spotify so I can't vouch for differences.  The thing I really like about iTunes radio is you can choose for it to play mainly hits in that genre, a mix of "unknown" and hits, or just unknown so you have the ability to cater it better to your needs.

The 5C is basically the 5 with a color case.  The 5S has all the fun new features.  Go for the 5S if you are going to upgrade!
  • MH & I are due for upgrades.  He wants to get the phones immediately... I'm ok with waiting a couple weeks until the bugs are worked out...

He downloaded the new iOS on his 4S last night & loves it!  I'm not sure if I will download or wait for the new phone.
