  • I know you can choose to do manual updates or automatic, so there is that.

I had to delete a lot of apps from my 4 in order to download.  I'm going to try to add back some of the ones I deleted after it finishes the app updates I started.

  • I have not updated my phone yet (as I always wait to make sure everyone else likes it)
BUT- I am so glad Madison took it upon herself to update her Itouch. Her Itouch that wasn't capatable with this update >:P  So, I was up till 12am last night trying to unfreeze the thing and then I had to retore it to it's orginal factory settings. So she lost everything because she didn't back it up first. Ya- it was awesome. She spent the entire summer making music videos with her friends and she lost them all. I was still working on readding everything this morning before work. It's been great :( I feel terrible and it was a hard lesson for her- but I flat out told her before don't update anything until I get it (so I could back it up) but she couldn't wait for me to get home from work.

  • You can always attach your phone to your computer and pull them off of the phone to your hard drive.  That way you don't lose them altogether.

  • I love the new update too.  I love that you can swipe up and get to a bunch of gadgets like the flashlight and calculator.  I do agree with most of you that the battery seems to be going faster.  I barely used my phone today and I am at 82%.

For the ones with battery issues.  What model do you have? I'm at 88% and have been using it for the better part of 3 hours.  I have a 4S.

  • I'm ok with the upgrade. I do notice that my battery is draining faster and that is NOT okay. Other than that, I like it fine.  Oh - the icons for apps are cartoony, which is a little weird. It makes my phone feel more like a toy. Which, it is,  a little bit, but when I am in a meeting at work and I'm checking my calendar, I feel silly using something so bright and bubbly.

Also - you can turn off the auto update for apps, so the control can still be all yours!! :)

@caseyandlizzie I'm torn between the 5c and 5s.  I'm a total hoar for new gadgets but the 5c is cheaper and I'm not sure what the differences are between 5c and 5s.

The 5C is basically the 5 with a color case.  The 5S has all the fun new features.  Go for the 5S if you are going to upgrade!

I'm upgrading from a 4, so I'm more than happy wiht the 5c, but the 5S has a faster processor, better camera and video playback quality as well as the fingerprint recognition. I'm sure there are other difference,  but those seemed to be the bigger ones.

  • I have the 4, and I am okay with the battery life. As long as it lasts for one day of my normal usage, it won't affect me much because I generally have it plugged in next to my bed all night.

I am so torn about whether to upgrade. I would definitely want to get the 5S if I upgrade, but I don't know if I want to shell out the money. My 4 has served me so, so well.

I had to delete about 700 photos (that I'd already pulled off my phone) and a couple of apps to free the 3GB needed. I still haven't taken the plunge yet. I should look at DH's phone since he's upgraded. I'm nervous about losing other stuff in the change-over.

  • I did notice the battery going quicker, and also having hard time connecting with wifi, but overall I like it, feels like I have a new phone!!.we have the 4S, DH is now wanting an upgrade, so I'm sure he will do it, but I refused to pay money on a new phone, rather spend it on fall wardrobe.

So, what's the verdict?  What do you think?

Is anyone else having trouble with connecting to WiFi?  Last night, both my iPhone and iPad wouldn't stay connected.  It could have been the actual WiFi, but it was awfully coincidental.  I think I saw Hoycie was having issues with battery life.  I haven't noticed this yet.  Has anyone else?
My mom had problems with her WiFi after getting the last update.  She could never connect to WiFi (it was grayed out), and the only way to fix it for awhile, was to turn it off and put the phone in a ziplock back and then in the freezer for about 15 mins.  Turn the phone back on and then she was able to connect for awhile.
