Partial molar pregnancy? (obv loss mentioned)

Re: Partial molar pregnancy? (obv loss mentioned)

  • Thanks for sharing your experience @rockstarpups. I've been reading non-stop and went for my first draw today. Now the waiting game begins. I'm also panicking a bit because DH and I were lazy with using a condom on Sunday because I was sure I wouldn't O anytime soon and I didn't know about the PMP. And my temp spiked yesterday...and stayed up today. So now I'm concerned that there is a chance of pregnancy since we had unprotected sex in my fertile window. I am a rule follower and would not have intentionally done this because of the serious implications to my health. All I'm thinking is Fuck. Also, I don't have a number for my specialst to easily reach them to call and talk about what this could mean. Double Fuck. I may have to call around on Monday if my temp stays up to hopefully stalk the new doc. I never thought I would ever be in this position.

  • You said you POAS recently and it was still positive, yes? So your HCG levels are unlikely to be zero at this point. I think you don't ovulate unless HCG is zero, so I don't believe you are at risk for getting pregnant this cycle. What you want to watch for is if HCG starts to rise again. I would TTA for now until you are at zero - if it starts to rise you won't know if you are pregnant or if the molar tissue is growing. They can monitor by ultrasound but it would take some time to rule out one scenario versus another. We ended up TTC again just a month earlier than we were "supposed" to, and I got a bit of a lecture from a nurse when I called to get an order for betas. I was really scared and didn't need a lecture, I just needed support. Don't be scared - just tell them what happened and they can monitor you. Just remember that trophoblastic disease is rare, and it is even more rare that trophoblastic disease becomes carcinoma. I was super, super scared at the whole cancer concept, but the risk is VERY small. Keep telling yourself that. It's a terrible experience but you will survive this!

  • Thanks rockstarpups. As far as I know my PCOS is still positive. My cycles after my son were shorter, but still irregular, usually o'ing sometime between cd 18-25. Fortunetly my temp dropped today, so more than likely you're right and my hcg is still pos and my temps are just wacky due to all the hormones. My pre-DS charts were all over the place so it is familiar. I am just going to take it one week at a time, and the stats are reassuring. Oh, and I plan to double glove for love from here on out, lol. Thanks again for your kind words and support, it's so reassuring.
