I am so sorry... yesterday sounds like a real ringer of a day. I'm glad that you and your DH are all right, and that your MIL will be. Others had sound advice about looking to get the hospital to work with you and about the insurance. Also, I agree that if you feel the slightest need, take up on the counseling. It's definitely a traumatizing event even if you weren't in the thick of it.

I hope the days to come are easier on you after yesterday. *hugs*

So sorry about how rough yesterday was. Shooter lock downs are super scary, the university I worked at a few years ago had one but luckily it ended up being a false alarm, so I can't even imagine how it would feel to be in a real one. ((Hugs)) It does really mess with your feeling of security and hope that you do talk with someone about it so that you are able to gain back the secure feeling.

I am also so sorry about you MIL and sending T & Ps to all of you. I agree with the other ladies, be completely honest with the billing department if the insurance doesn't help and they will usually try to work with you either with billing plans or writing a lot of it off as charity.
