Nights have been getting out of hand. We have to start sleep training our baby and it's going to suck.

I wish you luck with that.  It helped Wes's sleep SO much.

Thanks. I'm not sure how we want to do it. We never really did with A. Maybe that's why she never goes to bed at night!

  • We got hit with snow last week and it knocked out a ton of power, and DH has been working around the clock for a week.  He is a lineman for one of the major utility companies, and we have hardly seen him in a week.  Since last Friday night, he's been home to sleep maybe 15-18 hrs total and he has worked two 36 hour shifts (on top of multiple 18 hr shifts) in that time period.  I just can't even imagine how exhausted he is.
I'm starting to feel a little selfish though, because I just want my damn husband home.  The kids miss their dad, and at this point, I don't care if people don't have power any more.  It's messing with my family! :(

  • So. I went to work today. I am sad, and definitely foggy, but I put on my big girl panties and went to work. Well, in the middle of a meeting, my bra broke on one side.

    ...
So I had one arm under my boob for an hour, waiting for him to go into a meeting.

    Seriously. WTF.
What terrible day! I'm sorry. :(

I hope he's making lots of OT at least!

He ended up working 113 hours in 7 days, so the OT will definitely pay off.  He's just exhausted this weekend though, which means not much happening in our house.

    So, back in the day....

On a random Thursday night, G. Love and Special Sauce were playing at a college close to the one I was attending at the time.  My roommate’s friend was friends with them, so he asked if we wanted to see them and meet the band.  I went along with it because my roommate was a huge fan.  So we get there, see the show, then somehow ended up at the hotel where they were staying and we were all drinking together in the hotel lobby.  It was just me, roommate, roommate’s friend, and band.  We were having an awesome time.  They were all SO nice and didn’t make the conversation all about themselves.  Anyway, it gets to be about 4:00 a.m. and I’m exhausted and sitting in a really comfortable armchair in the lounge.  Next thing I know, I had dozed off for a few seconds and I’m being woken up by G. Love saying, “Look at this one!  Apparently I’m not entertaining enough for her!”  He kicked my foot, I woke up in a panic, and the whole band started cracking up.  I was MORTIFIED, but they were all so super nice about it.  I left soon after that.

So that’s the night I fell asleep in the middle of a conversation with G. Love and Special Sauce.

I just got to read this now.  What a great story!  I mean, in your defense, it was going on 4 am . . .
