    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? 45 minutes.

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes? About 20 minutes each way.

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit? Drive alone.

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? 45 minutes. I think an hour is too big of a mental barrier to get over.

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes? Usually about 15-20 minutes each way.

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit?  I used to carpool, but now I drive alone.

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? I'd probably go 45 minutes at the most.  I actually like the alone time in the car - I decompress from work and listen to my audiobooks.

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes? 45min - 1 hr each way

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit? Drive alone

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? 1 hr max.  Ideally it would be closer than that but I'd be willing because I already do that anyways.  Its a huge inconvenience to have two hours cut out of your day to do nothing though.

  • 1) How long is your commute?  Anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour (or 2 if the weather sucks) If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes?

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit?  99% of the time I drive alone, but the other 1% of the time I will drive in with my husband seeing as we work a block away from each other.

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home?  If I never had to deal with bad weather, I would do an hour, but living in snow country I think even now my commute is too long.

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home?  45 minutes in a car...by myself...with no one pushing or shoving me...and not having to smell other people's body "stuff".

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes?  20-30 minutes

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit? Drive alone, and I enjoy it.

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? Probably an hour at the most.
  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes? 2hrs in the morning. Nights can be an hour or two depending on the train I take

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit? Public transit

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? Well, I really like where we are for location now so I'd prefer to reverse it and keep my house but find a job closer to home.

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes?  When I was working, my last office was 1.1 miles from my house.  It could take me as little as 3 minutes but I had to cross train tracks and at rush hour, the trains come every 5-10 minutes.  Leave at the wrong time and 1.1 miles takes you 20 minutes.

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit?  Drive alone.

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? My first job took me 35 minutes to get to.  That's my max.  I hate driving.  I might be willing to have a longer commute if I could take the train but I did that for a while too and it wasn't great (other than lots of reading time!)

1.) About 20 minutes, but I often work from home.

2.) Drive alone. Public transit in Delaware's lower 2 counties is severely lacking.

3.) Probably no more than an hour or so, preferably less.

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes?
15-20 min. It's the perfect commute. No traffic, and it gives me a chance to drink my coffee and collect my thoughts before I get bombarded with children at work.

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit?
Drive alone. I would actually HATE to carpool.

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home?
About an hour. I've had a commute longer than that before and it was no fun, but it was manageable.

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes?  I WFH most of the time on M, W, and F.  On T and R I work on site, which is 5 1/2 miles away, which takes me about 30 minutes there and about and hour home.  It's insane.  Plus I have to park a 20-ish minute walk away from the office.  Now that's just sad (and pay $14 a day to do so).

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit?  Right now I drive alone.  I take the metro when I can, it's just not practical at the moment.  My SIL used to work near the metro and she'd drop me off on her way to work, which was the absolute ideal situation.  I don't mind an hour commute so much when I'm not driving.

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home?  I'm not sure.  I wish I had no commute to work and an hour home, especially if it was on the metro.  I like the 'alone time' between work and coming home.  I just hate driving, and getting up early.

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit?  I drive alone.  Public transit does not exist in my area.

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? Not much longer than I am now.

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes?

Working from home most days, when I go help out part-time, it's a 20 mile drive, one way.

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit?

Drive alone. Can't wait for the move to NYC so I can get rid of my car!

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home?

NONE. I hate to drive. It would have to be a REALLY good home or job. Like, above WILDEST DREAM.

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes?Right now I have to drive from store to store for my job, but the longest time is 30 minutes between stores. 2 minutes is shortest time between stores. Job before that was as little as 15 minutes before I moved. After I moved it became a 30-35 minute drive. 30 minutes tended to be my average commute.

     2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit? I would usually drive alone unless a co-worker needed a drive to work or home. The occasional company was nice.

     3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? I think 30 minutes is about my max for a commute. I think my SIL is nuts having an hour commute.

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes? SAHM right now, but my last job was 35 mins. Prior to that my commute was 30-60 min each way depending on time of day.

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit? I drove alone.

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? I also live in snow country so that would play a role in that decision. No more than a regular 20-30min drive since that can become hours on a bad day and those physical hours mentally feel twice as long in the vehicle during bad weather.
  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes?

30 minutes each way (15 if I drive or get a carpool ride)

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit?

I mostly take the bus. The drive is nothing, but I don't want to pay $200 a month to park (I work two blocks from the capitol- parking here is kind of crazy).

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home?

Probably 1 hour max. I've done 45 minutes. I did not enjoy it, but it was doable.

    My commute is 15-20 minutes.

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit?
I drive alone now.  I used to carpool with one of my close friends/coworkers, but after A was born and I started doing the morning drop-off, it meant I would have had to leave way too early.  I miss carpooling :(

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home?
Maybe 45 min.. We didn't look much further than that when we were looking for a house because neither of us wanted to spend the time on the freeways and the money on gas.

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit? Drive alone. I drive too much as part of my job and my schedule is different every day so it wouldn't make sense to carpool (which stinks because there is a coworker who lives around the corner from me)

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes?  Right now it is 30 minutes (20 miles).  We move around, though, so I've experienced anything from 10 minutes to an hour.

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit? Drive alone.  No transit here

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home?  Like other posters have said, that hour is a mental threshold of pain for me.  I think I could do transit for a longer time as long as I had a seat and a book and I didn't have to wait for ages for a train to arrive (ahem, Atlanta, I'm looking at you and your horrid MARTA schedule!).  I used to MARTA when I lived down there and it was fine as long as it was a regular day and things were functioning properly, but if it was a weekend/holiday/some kind of malfunction (which was often) it took too damn long.

  • 1) 20-25 min; although bc we are in the middle of nowhere it's a guaranteed 20-25 because there's never any traffic. That was a huge change for us from the Bmore/DC area. When we lived there mine was also about 25 but could easily be over an hour if there was an accident or construction

    2) Alone...audiobooks are amazing

    3) That would really depend on the area...probably 30 min, although depending on the situation I could see us going up to 45
