Wacky Wednesday Poll

Re: Wacky Wednesday Poll

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes? About 5 minutes...
    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit? I drive alone.  I have to take the kids to daycare/ preschool.
    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? I used to live in a small rural community where driving 45 minutes to "town" was not a big deal.  Movies, restaurants, grocery shopping, midnight Taco Bell runs were no big deal when I was in high school.  DH and I will be moving  close to where we grew up but only about 20-25 minutes away from my work next year.

  • 1) How long is your commute? 27 miles. I work different shifts at a hospital so the time it takes varies greatly. Sometimes it's 35 mins, sometimes it's an hour and fifteen minutes. With all the snow and ice we've gotten this winter, several times it's taken me more than 3 hours. I really wish hospitals had snow days. If it's really bad out, and I leave at 7am and have to be back at 7pm I usually sleep at the hospital. Which sucks.
    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit? I carpool when I can but it's a challenge with my new job. I get off work 30-40 minutes earlier than the nurses on the floor who have to give report and it sucks to sit around for 40 minutes after working all night.

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? Probably an hour at the most. Once upon a time I worked at a local community hospital. I hated the job, but LOVED my 5 mile commute.

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes? I live a couple of minutes out of town and it still only takes me around 5 - 7 minutes even in the winter.

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit? Alone

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? I wouldn't be willing to commute.  We live in a small town and it only takes about 10 minutes to drive from one end to the other.  When I go down to the city the traffic drives me nuts.  I could never live somewhere where I couldn't get anywhere I wanted to go in under ten minutes.

  • 1) How long is your commute? If you are currently working from home, how long were your prior commutes? I travel about 20 minutes to my office. After that, my commute can be anywhere from an hour to two hours when I go to foster homes or family homes for therapy.

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit? I drive alone to the office, but I sometimes carpool with co-workers. We're paired up when we work with kids, so we will occasionally carpool if we're going to certain homes at the same time.

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home? I would have to say an hour would be the longest I would commute.

    10 minutes

    2) Do you/did you drive alone, carpool, or take public transit?

Either alone or carpool. It just depends on my co-worker's schedule that week. We schedule our own clients.

    3) How long of a commute would you be willing to have in order to live in your dream location/home?

Hmmm. I hate driving. But I'd drive up to 30 minutes I think. It would depend on the traffic. If it was a long commute but no traffic then I'd drive up to 40 minutes.

  • 1) My commute is about 5-10 minutes. Depends on how many lights I hit. I love it. There is rarely any traffic.

    2) I drive alone.

    3) I'm not sure. I've never had a commute longer than about 20 minutes, and I HATE traffic. So my limit is probably 30 minutes total.

  • 1. 20 miles. When I drive, it can take anywhere from 40 minutes to 1 hour on a regular day. It's currently dumping 8-12 inches of snow on us, so I expect it will take 2-3 hours to get home tonight.

    2. I either drive alone or take the bus. When I take the bus, it is a 1.25 hour ride. I like to take the bus whenever possible because then I can read and skip the driving anxiety that I normally experience.

    3. My current commute is way too long for me. My ideal would be 30 minutes. We will move someday, and that will be my target commute range to shoot for.
