Is a Low Down Payment Ever OK?

Re: Is a Low Down Payment Ever OK?

  • I live in an average COL area. We use and love our in-home daycare. They are licensed for up to 12 children. We pay the same amount, age of child is not a price factor. We did get a slight discount when we had our second child.

In-home was much less than centers and my children are in a home environment. I personally didn't like the feeling of the centers. Personalop inion.

  • Good info! Option 2 seems like a bad idea. I bet that's what my H's friend who "swears" he put 5% down but doesn't pay PMI actually did.

How much will your PMI be as a percentage of your purchase price? Option 1 would be nice for keeping payments down, but 3 could save money if you're planning to make improvements and then re-appraise the property.
