Today is the 4th anniversary of my first date with DH. (I call is our dativersary.) We went to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner and then to see Despicable Me. It was so much fun.

What did you do on your first official date with DH?

We didn't really have a "first date." We started seeing each other casually 3 or 4 weeks before we made it clear that we were in a relationship. Even then, we never really did a date night or anything.

We started off as friends that hung out at school, but the first time we spent time together outside school was when we went to see Max Payne in the theatre.  We don't really call that our first date though, since we were just friends.  He asked me out for a real date and we went for a hike with his family's dogs.  We made apple cider beforehand and packed some snacks to munch along the way.  It was really nice! Afterwards we went back to his parent's house and watched Totoro on VHS. That will have taken place 6 years ago this fall.

We had been best friends for a few years already, but for our first actual date we went to a winery and then out to dinner.  Then we went out for a mutual friend's birthday.  It was February 12, 2010.

Our was around Christmas and was also 4 years ago this year.  We met at a restaurant in NYC, had a wonderful dinner, then walked to Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas tree, then down to Bryant Park to see their tree.  After that, we met up with one of H's sisters and some friends at a bar for a few drinks.

Aug 19th 2009 - we met at walmart and he took me to a diner down the road. He was so nervous and I kept catching him looking at me boobs lol. Then we went back to Walmart and talked in his truck for 2 hours...

It was December,1999 and we were freshmen in high school! He asked me out at my birthday party at cosmic bowling. A week later, our first solo date was to the movies to see Man on the Moon. I'm pretty sure that bowling alley and that movie theater have been closed for years now : (

We were friends for a while before we started dating.  In April 2010 we kind of hooked up after a night of drinking (no not all the way.)  We started hanging out a lot at my place or at the bar he played volleyball at twice a week.  All of our friends were around and none of them really knew.  Anyway it was about mid May.  I had gotten sick of this no real date nonsense so I got tickets to a Twins game.  He kept talking about how he had not been to the new stadium yet.  From that moment on we were always together.  I can't remember the date though.

My 4-year dativersary with H was last month. We met on OKCupid and decided to meet for real after chatting for awhile. Our first actual date was nothing to write home about. We just went to Starbucks for coffee and talked. But we got so caught up in the conversation that we ended up staying until it was almost closing time and the staff started giving us nasty looks.

It was very complicated when we first started seeing each other. So, first date technically...
We met up on campus and went to the student union. Our college sold discounted movie tickets, so we got one for each of us. We went to go see the movie Disturbia. Afterwards, we went to go get dinner at the Pizza Hut near my neighborhood. (The one closer to the college was one of those carryout only branches)
It wound up being the first night H met my parents--we had leftover pizza and dropped it off for them.
We went back to campus to get my car. That wound up being the night he asked me to be his girlfriend.
Oddly enough, I still have the ticket. I had a picture of it posted on my Facebook three months ago since it was the seven year anniversary of that taking place.

Same.  I don't even remember our first kiss, lol.  (A proud story for the grandkids.)

When I say "best friends for a few years"...well, there was a weird fwb thing going on.  But I knew I loved him from very early on, way before we kissed or anything.

Our 4 year anniversary of first date was this year too! we meet online and after chatting for a few days we decided to go out ...April 23, 2010. We went to Applebee's for dinner then went to play mini golf. We wound up talking for hours in his car after. I swear to this day I knew from the second I saw him in parking lot before dinner there was something different about him :-)

@ramstein1027 I don't remember our first kiss either...It was on Halloween 2006 and we were pretty drunk. Freshman year and everything :-X

We met in late September, hung out for the first time on Halloween. We started a FWB thing (no sex!) after that. After Thanksgiving break we started hanging out constantly. We made things official on November 30th and then went on our first date a couple of weeks later. We'd mostly hang out on campus before that. Our first date was to a hibachi restaurant named Wasabi.

@christinafromflanders‌ I at least have that ticket and one other (I kept the other since it was technically a first for me--I had never been to a midnight movie premier) Most of my "stash" were just cute notes left on my car and newspaper clippings from concerts we attended together.

Ours is 5 years almost to the day of our wedding anniversary. We had been friends for a few yes and hung out a lot. That sat night he dropped me off after hanging out and we made out. So then our first official date was golden spoon the next day to talk about it and decided we want to start dating!

Our dativersary will also be 4 years ago this year.  It was November 23rd, two days before Thanksgiving.  We meet on Match.com and talked for about a week before we actually met in person.  Our first date, I met him at his place and he drove me to dinner.  It was at this amazing little Italian bistro that was so good (and where he proposed to me 6 months later).  Afterwards, we went to a bar where they were giving salsa lessons.  We danced a little and I could tell he was really uncomfortable (he's not a good dancer, lol!), so I suggested we go get dessert.  We went to a local ice cream place and talked for hours after that.

The next night, I went to his place to watch movies and hang out.  That's when we had our first kiss.  We were inseparable from then on.

All these stories about drunk first kisses are awesome. H and I were sober for ours, but he was drunk the first time he said he loved me. I believe my exact words were "That's really sweet. Tell me again when you're sober."

@ramstein1027, I went to downtown Minneapolis with some friends.  This bar was hosting a 90s theme and was selling $3 Brass Monkey shots.  I found that ring and put it on my left ring finger because I was "Married to money."  The ring has a giant $ sign on it.  Our sober cab got drunk so we had to call her boyfriend to pick us up and tow her car.  It was a super fun and crazy night.

@pockysquirrel - I told DH I loved him first and we were drunk. He said "I think I love beer" and I said "well I think I love you" and he said "I think I love you too" really classy relationship...we also met at 4am drunk at Krystal. I think we have a lot of stories our kids don't get to hear....

I used to have a picture of me on the night we first kissed. I'll see if I can locate it!

For those not FB friends with me, DH is the one in the striped shirt.  This was the law school Halloween party in 2008.  Straight hot mess express.

When I left walmart I called my friend and told her I just thought we'd be friends. Haha oops.

First kiss was on his apartment floor on "date #2" aka Chinese and a movie. He kept trying to kiss me but I just wanted to be friends... Thus being on the floor trying to get away. Then between that and seeing him a 3rd time I said we can be fwb. He was still technically married (in the process of a divorce), in the army (so I automatically slated him as a man whore), and I was pretty well done with boyfriends... I just wanted to get laid. Hi... I'm a guy.

I told him we can officially be dating when I had 103.7 fever in December... And he drove me to the ER in PA so I could be with my parents. He was surprised when I finally got let out and changed my fb status. He thought I was delusional from the fever.

My cousin brought him out one night to a bar and at the end of the night I asked him to be my date to a wedding and he said yes. The wedding was Oct 1, 2005...our first kiss was before that on Sept 17. He had come to my parents house with his dad to make wine in my parent's cellar and we kissed goodbye that night=)

Our first date was on April 24, 2010 (which is why our wedding started at 4:24 pm). We went to dinner at a Cuban restaurant near my apartment and then for drinks at a bar around the corner. By the time we left the bar he was too drunk to get on the metro to get to his car to drive home (we lived about 45 minutes from each other). So, he came home with me. We walked in the door and I was standing in the kitchen opening a bottle of wine and he walked up to me and said "well, I guess I need to get this out of the way" and kissed me. He stayed over that night, and didn't get lucky. We spent the whole next day together and pretty much every day since.
