October Horror Read

I think this was mentioned a few weeks ago, @hoycie maybe, but I don't think the annual October horror read was decided. I think so far they have all been SK, but it sounds like we are open to other authors, so please list suggestions if you are interested, and I can make a poll. When should we discuss? Halloween is on a Friday this year.

My suggestion is House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski.

That works for me!  I don't have any other suggestions as I pretty much read a non-SK horror book for this read-along each year and that's it

Anne Rice's new vampire book Prince Lestat comes out in October, but not until the 28th.  Perhaps a IWTV read, or even TVL?

Let's read House of Leaves, since most people seem to be okay with it. It is also on that list @hoycie; which I think is a great find. @sassypants527 also mentioned the upcoming Anne Rice book, if anyone else was interested in doing a read/re-read of the Vampire Chronicles.

I've been too chicken to read House of Leaves for a long time.  Maybe I'll do it finally!  For those interested, you may wanted to check out Poe's album Haunted.  She wrote it kind of as a companion to the book.  They are brother/sister.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haunted_(Poe_album)

I just started House of Leaves yesterday, and so far I am really enjoying it. At first I thought the library had made a mistake, because the book so resembled a textbook. It seems like it is going to a very interesting (and unconventional!) read!
