What happened to your friends after getting married?

I've noticed I've had less of a desire to see my friends and want to spend my time with my husband. Is this normal? I mean, I suddenly don't want to hang out with my friends AT ALL, or once a month at most.

  • I remember you...

You got married "spur of the moment" after dating less than a year and think your husband should dump any female friend because you ditched all your male friends.

If you dump all your friends does your husband have to do the same?
  • Maybe she thinks if she keeps asking the same question that eventually someone will tell her she did the right thing and isn't crazy?

I think you're on to something. There are a few who come back now and then asking essentially the same question hoping they'll get a different answer.

Little tip- if your friends, family, and most on an anonymous message board think you're wrong about a situation...you're wrong. It won't change in two months. You're still wrong. Get some therapy. It will help you gain some insight.

Also, please take that one poster's advice from your previous post. Definitely forbid your H from riding an elevator with people of the opposite sex. You wouldn't want him to have to deal with the temptation of a quickie between floors!

I second the other PP's. I think this is a personal issue for you and it isn't normal. You should seek help. Otherwise you will drive everyone away, including your husband (and random internet strangers).

  • I'm a little opposite of you . I want those girls nights, but I feel my single friends think I don't want to go out any more since i'm not single. I need more married friends maybe???
  • Well.. my group of friends became smaller but better quality.  I think it had more to do with growing up than with the marriage tho.  My husband and I have lives and friends of our own, and I would go crazy if we didn't! Idk about everyone else, but very little actually changed once we married (we did live together before), we are still the same ppl.
