Until Iowa and 5 until NH

I still haven't firmly made up my mind about who I am voting for.  I went with H to see Christie again (he wanted to go) and I fell in love with Christie again even though I felt settled on Rubio.  It's so bizarre because at the beginning of this race, I was sure I wouldn't like Christie at all, but he is the most likable candidate I have ever seen in person.  It might be all an act (if so, he's a damn good actor), but he makes you trust him completely.  I didn't even agree with a lot of his positions, but he made me feel that he was being so honest, that I trusted him.

I'm probably still going to vote for Rubio though because I agree with more of his positions and I think he's electable.

Who is everyone else leaning towards?  Republicans and Democrats

  • Do you live in Iowa? My husband's whole family is from the Sioux Center area. They are all Dutch and go to Dordt.

I live in California, so it will likely be narrowed down by the time it gets to me by you early voter states. I also really like Christie. I just don't think he'll make it to June, when California votes.

  • Nope I never decide on who I'm voting for until the R and D nominees.  Its hard for me to get excited about anything knowing it will probably be trump vs clinton.

I'm starting to lose all faith in the American people. :/

I live in NH.  I think Christie might end up surprising people.  He's going to do very well in NH and that might give him enough money to hang on for quite a while.

    My worst nightmare.
  • The only one that I kinda enjoyed listening to and taking as a serious R candidate was Rand Paul - I know I"m nuts.  But he made sense to me.

He makes sense to me a lot too, especially about the role of government and fiscal issues.
  • I am still not sure who I'll be voting for. I know I will not vote for Bernie or the Hillary. Only in America, can an ex-president , who sexually assaulted numerous women - defend a presidential candidate who is a master liar and is being investigated by the FBI; all the while being married to each other. lol

I think it's funny, though, that Trump is trying to attack Bill Clinton as a "womanizer" when Trump cheated on his first wife and is currently on wife #3 and said he'd date his daughter. It's weird to me that no one really cares about Clinton and Trump's past. I guess people think that politicians are so corrupted and are just used to TV shows like Scandel, that suggest all politicians are involved in numerous affairs all the time. I wish we held them to a higher standard than that.

Me too.  I hope more comes out about Trump's sexual indiscretions.  I can't believe this shit didn't come out sooner.
  • I think it goes to the point that people can be immoral and still be good at their jobs

I still want my President (and for the most part lawmakers) to be moral people. The POTUS needs to be a likeable and respected person by the world's most powerful leaders. And lawmakers who are immoral in their personal lives usually are out of selfishness. Selfish law makers are a problem.

The difference though is that Clinton raped women and Hillary silenced the victims. Double disgusting!!! He also "played" while in the White House. Hillary says there is a War on Woman yet she and her husband are the ring leaders. lol

To be perfectly fair, we are all innocent until proven guilty and he was never proven guilty of those crimes, although I believe the crime was never fully investigated because of a position of power.

Anyone heard about the "Hilary heckler" here in NH?

I've never heard of the Hillary heckler in NH.

Bill was impeached. Also, there's plenty of proof in the book the Clintons' War on Women.

  • I just finished reading a book called The Residence in which the author interviews former WH employees. Basically, the staff has/had its favorites first families. The Clintons, bar none, have ranked consistently at the lowest end of likeability of the WH employees (maids, cooks, butlers, etc.). They even reported that Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea would call the Secret Service, "pigs." I don't care who you are, you don't use such a derogatory term for LE. Plus, you especially don't do so when the guys you're using that name for are protecting you. Also, after the Clintons left the WH, the Administration's staff trashed the place. I take issue with such poor behavior from the people a first family employs.

Care to share who the favorites were?
  • Here's one person bringing this to light....

Bill was not impeached because of his rape allegations.  He was impeached because he lied under oath about an adulterous affair.

I think Hilary is a total hypocrite and should hardly be the person leading the fight for women.

I know her personally and the full story is not being told while the liberal media has been trying to make her out to be a crackpot.  She is a rape survivor and has spent many years advocating for rape survivors.  She is extremely passionate and has a good heart.

She went to 3 previous Clinton events before this heckling incident.  The first time she waited to quietly speak to Clinton after the event and only got about half her question out when an aid pulled her away from Clinton and basically threw her out.  She was thrown out the second time she attempted to privately speak with Clinton after her event.  The third time she attempted to ask at the public forum during the question period, but was surrounded by secret service the moment she raised her hand.  So this time, she simply stood during the entire question portion of the event and waved her hands.

I don't care if you believe someone has an inane question.  If you are running for public office, you should answer every voter question.  I have been to dozens of town hall events and have never seen any censoring of questions.  In fact, I have seen politicians publicly called out many times and asked extremely uncomfortable and inconvenient questions.  While the politicians may have struggled to answer, they always attempted to answer in a polite manner.

I remember that. Totally classless.  Remember the removed all the "w"s from all the keyboards?  Lovely.
  • Sure. They all adored Bush Senior and Barbara. W and Laura ranked highly too. Both couples were always kind. The staff also liked Reagan (but not Nancy) and they enjoyed Jackie Kennedy a lot. LBJ had a perverted obsession with his shower and was known for being a jerk - swearing at employees and "grading them," like, "You get an 'F' today!"
  • I really want to read that book now.
  • I really want to read that book now.
You should. It's really a good book and it tells about what's required to run the WH. There's 100+ rooms. And it employs over 125 people. Staff cannot leave or go to bed themselves until the first family is asleep (in case one of them needs something).

I apologize if I am getting the wrong Pres., but I think LBJ was the one who would sometimes force people to have meetings with him while he was using the toilet.

I've read that he was a little crazy and people around have said he was ""eccentric" to the point that people questioned his sanity.
  • I thought it was really funny his comeback to hillary and how she hasn't said anything since.  Also I heard Bernie and Clinton polls are getting tighter.  Personally I can't imagine Bernie as President - our debt will double.

I took a poll yesterday. I like to take the political polls when I have time, but this one just proved how dumb polling was.  It's a democratic poll and I kept saying, "I don't think I can take this poll.  You asked me if I plan to vote, and yes I do, but I am not and can not vote in the Democratic primary".  But they wanted me to take it anyway!

Anywho, it was a Bernie poll.  First they gave a whole list of negative Hilary statements and asked if I strongly or somewhat agreed or disagreed with each statement.  Then they asked me obviously positive Bernie statements and they were so. much. worse. than the obviously negative Hilary statements!  I couldn't believe what he was bragging about!  I almost chocked when one statement bragged how he plans to spend billions more dollars on social welfare programs.  He was literally bragging about how much he plans to spend!
