I watched In the Land of Women last night and KS was in it. I have to say, I thought she was fabulous in it. I REALLY do think she was given some poor direction for her acting in Twilight. She was not monotone or angst or any of the other things people commented on yesterday. Just thought I would share. If you haven't seen the movie- it was cute. Adam Brody and Meg Ryan are also in it- it was a cute heartwarming movie.

Re: Thoughts on KS's acting
I added "Speak" to my Blockbuster queue after finding out she was in it (didn't know it even existed!!). I loved that book, and I'm really interested to see how she does in that role. I think it'll be telling for how she'll handle NM.
I'm also starting to jump on the anti-CH bandwagon. The more I see/think, the more I realize she probably had a lot to do with what I didn't like.?

I also really like her as Bella, though I do think she can do better (again, probably just the directing).
I like what someone said yesterday about Bella being a one-note kinda girl (countering people saying KS was monotone). I started listening to the audiobook for New Moon yesterday, and the person reading is much more chipper than Bella is. KS really did a good job at making Bella a good introvert.?

I agree that Bella should be an introvert, but she doesn't need to be so sulky about it.

As I said yesterday I thought that she seemed like she had to take a crap the whole movie....and if she was so happy & in love..why didnt the *** smile more then once...she drove me nuts!!!!!! Bella in my head was more likeable & cute!
what?....no..no..no.no..what? huh....no... no... what...what.. are you talking about? -----thats Bella in the Hospital LOL
Well, I think of it this way.
Can you imagine being happy and in love, but with a vampire? She can't tell ANYONE anything about their relationship. The only person/people she has are the Cullens. I imagine that would be really lonely. Plus she is really shy in general and in a place that she, at least at the begining, hates and doesn't want to be.
Exactly.?
Eh while I see this point...the book didn't send this vibe...to me at least. I didn't feel like she cared about anything or anyone once her and Edward were a thing. It was like she was in her own little happy bubble. I do agree the directing wasn't great...same thing happened with HP3...god awful!
The?hospital?scene really got to me too. It was hard to watch and just sputtering...not really fearful of him leaving...of course they didn't build the movie properly or Bella and Edwards relationship.?
She's one I hope they recast.
Me too. She's only in about a total of 2 minutes of the film. It wouldn't be glaringly obvious to the unobessed fans
Ha! I actually think she is one of the best that was cast for the part. She was sooooo loopy and I felt like she walked right out of the book. I don't think the camera angles were great.?
Very! I really hated that entire scene which makes me sad because in the book it was a great scene! But overall I loved the mom and how flightly(sp) she was. ?
makeup....hello Edwards eyeliner (i posted about this about a month ago) bugs the heck out of me.
The baseball guy wasn't that hot himself.....maybe he liked her because she's easy. She seems like an easy lay in the book, that's the impression I got. hahaha.?
She seemed more happier in the book, E & B were both more playful to me. But then again there is alot of book to fit into a movie...but damn i just wanted her to smile just a little bit more...be more excited! lol
And I 100% agree....the movie did not give thier "love" any justice at all!!!!
Y'know, from the one scene you can kinda see him in, I thought he was going to be a Vin-Diesel-looking guy *swoon*. But when I checked out his IMDB, ew.?
yeah...he looked like 36 not 29?
Exactly! I've been saying that right along! There was zip character development. I've seen Lifetime movies develop characters better and those budgets are MUCH smaller.
I loathed how they were like strangers and then BAM...soooo in love....even though you could barely see it.?
Ditto! I saw it with DH on opening night, and when we left, I said, "Did you even understand how they fell in love?"
He was thankful I had given him a full Twilight-saga lecture before seeing it. I feel bad for those who hadn't read the book before seeing the movie. Their devotion would make no sense.?
And that's exactly why I hate the extra nomad-vamps scenes (and stupid Waylon). They're pointless compared to what they took out.
I thought the nomad vamp scenes were good for the movie because as having people who have not read the book..they would just show up out of the blue. I liked that addition and thought it was good.
But the scene when Bella confronts him and then they fall in love while he is ripping trees out of the ground was silly.
I also thought that Edward taking Bella up a tree for the view as a good addition but extra time of them crawling around the tree was a bit of a waste. ?
Arrrgh, Tthat scene bugged the crap out of me. I can't see Edward hanging out way up in a tree with Bella. Any limb could snap, Bella could lose her footing at anytime - it seemed reckless and way out of character for Edward.?
