I HATE 5 Guys - they have this in ATL.  I guess I'm outnumbered but I don't really eat cheesburgers often anyways.  They are VERY expensive and I felt like they just threw the food at me.  If I had my choice I'd eat at Cheeburger Cheeburger, but then again it's been so long since I ate a burger........... plus, that was my experience in ATL (and I did go twice to give them a chance).  It was like $8 for burger and fries (you order separately).  But I know they are a chain so maybe it's different for each location.

I thought the one in Panama City was pretty cheap...DH ordered and paid though so I may be wrong.

I went to HS today...I didn't see that much really..sad...I did get some Christmas decorations for a steal. I found some willow trees for our front porch that were 70% off. So I got three...would have been almost $150. I don't know who would have paid $150 for these things.

They had everything in the store 20% off except VB and Brighton. Willow Tree statues were 25% off. Some of the fixtures--like tables and such were already sold. If I had a bigger house and needed some furniture I might would have bought one or two things.

that's sad.  I really like some of their stuff that they've had that's been WAY too pricey (like some pics and lamps) and I wish I had room for the fixtures they have b/c most of them are furniture.

So was it worth it to go?

I think so. I have heard the closer they get to closing...which I think is Feb. 21 maybe that they would mark things down lower. Not sure if that's true or not. They said today that the new store was going to open when classes started back after Spring Break. Several of the employees I think are staying on.

  • ok, well then I'll go in the morning (as much to DH's dismay.  He thinks you leave your "man card" at the door to HS, ha ha.) b/c if I can get some good Christmas shopping done early then its easier on the cashflow!!!!

yeah, that's what their HSE told me in that email, that most of the employees are staying on and that their HSE stuff would still be offered through this new store.  I think the lady that owns the store is tired and wants to be done w/it - she's like our mom's age.  But the girl who runs HSE is our age.

  • The family that owns Victory Designs and Victory Engraving in Opelika is selling those two stores. They are wanting to do other things. If I had the financial ability, I would LOVE to own my own store. Especially in downtown Opelika. Love it there!
