4. If you said yes to #2, how long? He works in irrigation, so it was the slow time anyway, so for about 2 weeks, he was mostly home with me, but did run out once in a while for work.

I told him he didn't need to go to all of them- I schedule them early in the morning and he works 2nd shift so there really is not point in him getting up early for a 10 mins. appt. He has been coming more now that I'm on leave, but I schedule them later and we can take one car in.

2. He has been to all except one. He went to the first one at 8 weeks, my NT Scan at 12 weeks (he didn't go to my regular 12 week appointment because he was at my NT scan the week before) and he is coming with me next week to my 16 week appointment......He's DYING to know what the baby is!!
3. DH will take some time off when the baby is born.
4. We're not too sure how much time yet. He and his father own his company, so he can be pretty flexible with that. Plus, he has a home office he can also do some work from.

4. If you said yes to #2, how long? He took off the Thursday I deliverd, went into the office for a while on Friday and then took the next week off. Not nearly long enough in my opinion but it did make me become self-sufficient pretty quickly.
I was a "mom to be" twice so I felt that I had the experience needed to answer and be of some help to you.

2. he went to the first apptointment both times, and then to the appts when ultrasounds were being done. Other than that - I think with Lexi - he was at the appt when we first heard the heartbeat. He didn't go to any others.

4. DH took a week off after both were born. With Lexi - she was born on a Tuesday and DH took the rest of the week off. I went home on Friday and DH was home with me until Tuesday when he went back to work. We talked about it and said next time, he'd work while I was in the hospital and then take a week off starting the day I went home. He and I were totally bored sitting in the hospital (I went in on a Monday and went home on Friday.) With Sydney - she was a scheduled c-section - I think I had her on a Wednesday. DH took that day off, but then he went to work (and Lexi went to daycare) on Thursday and Friday. They came to visit in the evenings. Sydney and I went home on Saturday morning and we all spent the next week together at home. That was soooo much better!

3. Will/Did your DH take time off when DC is/was born? yes, with DS he took a month off (unpaid). probably won't be able to take as long with this one, but at least 2 weeks.

2. DH went to the first appointment (I was 11 weeks, so he was able to hear the heartbeat) and to my big u/s. He also went to my 40 week appointment and to the NST I had two days after that.

4. He took a total of two weeks off, but one entire week was spent with me in the hospital.
1. Did/Does your DH go to your doctor?s appointments with you? DH went to all of my appointments with the perinatologist and most of the ones with the OB/GYN. Towards the end, though, when I was going every day for NSTs, no, he didn't go with me...my mom or MIL took me, as DH had to get SOME work done! But he still went to my twice-weekly U/S, as we never knew when I'd get admitted.

3. Will/Did your DH take time off when DC is/was born? DH works for himself, so I was lucky to have him home for quite a while after Elizabeth was born.
4. If you said yes to #3, how long? I think he was home for a month or so. And when he did start working again, he was able to be really flexible with his hours.
1. Did/Does your DH go to your doctor?s appointments with you? Many - the first, the first heartbeat, any u/s (we had a bunch). Except for the one when I found out I was being induced!

3. Will/Did your DH take time off when DC is/was born? He got ZERO time off. We got home from the hospital, he went back to work (brand new job). Oh well, trial by fire, I guess.

2 - he came to my first one b/c we had an u/s, came to the first one where we heard the h/b, and since then just the u/s appts, none of the routine ones. He's coming with me on Wednesday for my final growth u/s and then we'll go from there for the rest of them.

4 - not sure yet, we're waiting to see if I have a scheduled c/s and I need to talk to my mother and sister again and see what they want/can do.

2. If you said yes to #1, how often? All of them, except one when he was traveling and I was having an emergency. One of my close friends left work and brought me as I was on bedrest at the time and couldn't drive.

4. If you said yes to #3, how long? He stayed with me every day/night of the week I was in the hospital (minus one day he had to head into work) and he also stayed home with me the following week.

4. If you said yes to #3, how long? DH owns his business and was not comfortable with the staff he had when DS arrived. He closed early the day I was in labor and went in like usual the following day. Again, not a big deal to me, particularly b/c we had discussed this in advance. Think this would've been a big deal to other women though.

Yes he went to the ultrasound ones and then the last 4 weeks when I had internals.
he stayed home for a week which was great and helped a lot. it worked out good that I had DD on a friday so I got home from the hospital on a sunday and he was off the rest of the week.
for the second one I would do the same for the doc appts only have him go to the ultrasound ones.

He went to most of them. When I started going every other week and then every week he would skip them. Next time around I will want him there at the beginning, he can skip the middle ones, and then once I start going every week I will want him to come to those.

4. If you said yes to #3, how long? I don't think he worked for about the first week or two. After that he would work at home or plan his day so he was only away from us for a few hours. That lasted until DS was about a month old.

Officially 3 days, but it ended up being more b/c of holidays. DD was born on Sat 12/23, he got 12/25 and 26 off for the holiday. Took 3 days 12/27-29, got Monday 1/1 off as well. Worked half days Tues, Wed, Fri, and full day Thurs of that second week.
