Hmmm...I've been on here a LONG time with you girls, and I think most of you know a decent amount about me. But here are a few things people are surprised to hear about me:
- I am not "white" ....my dad IS German and Irish...BUT my mom is Creole and Jamaican.
- I got married 5 times to the same man ( my DH)...all seperate ceremonies/celebrations.
- I hate chicken...but have started eating it since getting pregnant.
- I thought dates were "candy" until I was like 5 years old...LOL
hmm.. you dont know much of anything about me..
Im shy when I first meet people (which have made some people think im stuck up) but am not shy on the dance floor at clubs and will get out there and shake my groove thing without alcohol (weird)
In college (i just graduated a few weeks ago) people always assumed I was a recent high school grad. I look young for my age.
I hate going places alone.
I repeat myself all the time. ... and always type more than is needed.
anything else? you can ask if you want

When I was 17 I got in to a car accident with a school bus full of kids, went over the side of a mountain, spent time in the hospital, and then was sued by the bus driver in the 11th hour (my Dad was sued to since he was on the registration). My parents hired a cheap attorney to write an appeal to try and take her to court but he failed. It was her fault, but the lawsuit took 6 years to settle. She got $1500 in the end, was living in a trailer, and refused to work after her accident. I got a totaled car, kicked off my insurance, and back pain.
oh.. some more:
I am a baby when it comes to wearing heels. I love how they look but cant last more than about 30 minutes, tops, wearing them
I still feel like an amateur doing my hair and makeup
I was in the military for 10 years and went to Saudi Arabia
It took me 7 years to get my bachelors degree because of being a single parent and having to work full time to pay my way through and take care of my son
ive only lived in orange county since 2007 and dont know many people that live here... ive only lived in california since 2002
I'm a huge klutz. I've had stitches 6 times, without playing sports or anything adventurous.
I've never graduated from college. I moved out when I was 19 and was completely financially on my own since then. I like where I'm at today, but I really wish I'd just applied for some loans and gotten through it.
I can stand on my head.
With the exception of the first semester when I was 17 I worked full time through college until now.
In 2002 I volunteered for the olympics so I could fullfil my dream of meeting Johnny Mosley (<3 swoon
)
Despite the fact that I spent almost 25 years living in ski towns I haven't gone skiing since 3rd grade.
I have never eaten a salad. I hate veggies and lettuce particularly gives me a gag reflex at the smell...
Hmm. I'll give you something scandalous and TMI.
I should have a 14-year-old child, but I don't.

now THIS is what i'm talkin' about.
[jaw on floor]
holy cow!
My jaw has not come up off the floor.
Nah. It was the right decision for me, and I would do it again if I had a time machine.
bwahahahaha! i liked to eat tang powder and pretend it was pixy stix. i also used to squirt ketchup straight into my mouth.
not quite on the level of other stuff in this thread, though.
Ha! We used to eat Kool-Aid packets when I was in 8th grade! Until it got banned at our school....LOL
when i was a kid i would dip grapes into kool-aid powder and eat it
i also have scandelousness but barely know you ladies.. so it will have to wait for another day.. haha (and no.. i didnt murder anyone)
mine either!
I'm a boring book, no one wants to open me up. [and I don't blame them]
In junior high, my friends and I used to use kool-aid to dye our hair. It was a hot, sticky mess.
Is it really that shocking? I guarantee you many people you know have been in the same situation. They are just not as forthcoming.
I was once talking to several other professional women, and 75% of us made the same decision.
ive been there
Its shocking in the sort of way that finding out your grandmother was pregnant when she got married ( mine was). You are just that, shocked. Not that you * care* just that you werent expecting that. well, at least thats how it was for me.
ETA: sorry, meant to quote Weemo
Yeah, it is. Because of exactly what you said, it's not something that is readily discussed. Have I known people who have made that decision? Yes. And I know the statistics, so odds are there are other people I know that that haven't shared it with me. But because of that, it is something that I think gives people at least a bit of a shock when it's revealed.
this exactly
