Poll: When do you...

Re: Poll: When do you...

  • The first chance we get after Thanksgiving.
  • We start right after thanksgiving, but we aren't having anyone over for Thanksgiving this year and I need to have everything decorated by Dec 5 for a party I'm having, so I may start on the indoor decor the week of Thanksgiving.  I won't do anything outdoors until after Thanksgiving though.

  • On Black Friday.  The women in the family clean up on Thanksgiving, breakout the alcohol and begin playing cards.  When we have sobered around 3am and all the men are asleep, we hit the stores.  Around 9, we have breakfast, come home, and sleep.  When we wake up, it is decorating time.

We put out everything except the tree which we get around the 15th.  We leave it up until Epiphany.

  • Usually the week after Thanksgiving.  The tree takes a little longer.  We usually go to get that the first or 2nd week in December.

    Usually the beginning of December.

    This.

  • We have an annual Holiday party the first weekend in December, and we are gone over Thanksgiving. So the middle of November for me.
  • Sometime within the two weeks after Thanksgiving.
  • The day after Thanksgiving. If shopping gets too crazy for us, we wait until the Saturday after Thanksgiving and put them up during the Bedlam [OU vs. OSU] game.

  • The Saturday after Thanksgiving, because usually, we host our Christmas party among friends the first Saturday in December.

  • Ever since I became a knottie/nestie I've decorated during the Thanksgiving weekend.  Growing up, it seems like Mom would start decorating about the 2nd weekend of December.
  • We put ours up on the 1st of December.

  • Depends on when Chanukah hits. This year it is the 11th, so probably day after Thanksgiving so we can enjoy them.

  • I normally start after Thanksgiving too but this year, we will be on our honeymoon and won't be back until the second week of Dec. That's just too late to get everything done. I def won't do the tree though until after we're back. We get a real tree though so it doesn't last that long. Smile
Baby, you've got the sort of eyes that tell me tales...

    the weekend after thanksgiving.

Ditto. A lot of times we're out of town the first week of December though so we wait until after that to put up our tree.

  • LOL.  I still have a reindeer thingy on my door that says happy holidays from last year.  it looks like a Moose and our dogs name is Moose.  I guess you would say I'm early for decorating for this year or realllly late at taking them down.

    Usually the week before though.

  • We usually do it 2 weekends after Thanksgiving but this year we are doing it Thanksgiving weekend because DH is having surgery on 12/1. Our basic colors are blues, silvers, and purples because we leave everything up until after February.

  • Dec 1st I usually start bringing things down, and organizing.  I try to buy the tree the first wkend in Dec.  The lights outside take a bit longer since it requires DH's assistance.
