    4. What is something you consider interesting about yourself? I guess that I am a cheerleader, or I was a cheerleader. I will have to retire my uniform for now till September 09. It's not raw raw cheerleading, it's called power cheerleading, like what they have in the states.

    5. What was the main thing that brought you to the knot/ nest? What is the main thing that keeps you here now? Planning my wedding, we were engaged for almost 2 years, so I had lots of time to plan. I found the knot by accident really, searching for something to help me get in shape for the wedding. I stay and moved over to the nest mainly because of this board. I really enjoy the people.

    ~Katie~

What was the main thing that brought you to the knot/ nest? What is the main thing that keeps you here now? Was looking at my friends wedding webpage and then I saw that there were boards here so I started to look at bios. Friendships is what keeps me here.

    5. What was the main thing that brought you to the knot/ nest? What is the main thing that keeps you here now? I originally came to the knot because of wedding planning. There wasn't a Canada board at the time. We (a few Canadian girls) hijacked the North Dakota board unitl they gave us our own board. Now I moved over to the nest since I am married. I feel I am friends with alot of the girls on here. That is why I have stayed. I guess its been since 2003. Boy, that is a long time.

Married since march 24, 2007 and expecting a baby in December.

    4. What is something you consider interesting about yourself?

Hmmm, nothing too mind blowing - after making most of my own wedding stuff I found that I'm pretty crafty and now being crafty is something I like to do in my spare time.

    5. What was the main thing that brought you to the knot/ nest? What is the main thing that keeps you here now?

I came to the Knot in 2006/2007 when planning my wedding. it was nice to chat with other local girls about all things wedding/marriage related. I came back to the Nest by chance - didn't even know it existed and was pleasantly surprised to see so many familiar girls!

  • 1. I live in a suburb of Vancouver BC.

    4. Heh, I've never thought of myself as terribly interesting either! LOL I'm rather outspoken which sometimes gets me into trouble!

    5. I joined The Knot near the end of 2003 and just after we got married in 2004 The Nest was created. At first I wasn't on the boards much but over the past year or so I've been around the Canada board a lot more. I've met some really cool people on here (both virtually and in real life) so I think it would be hard to leave now!

  • Hi ladies,

So sorry I'm late with this response but I wanted to say hello and welcome to the Canada board to all the new ladies!! Here's my intro too:

Where are you from? Windsor, ON

What do you do? Urban Planner at a consulting firm.

Married/Children? Married since October 06, pregnant with our first, due on August 14th.

What is something you consider interesting about yourself? I have a chronic illness called Crohn's disease, but I have never let that deter me from my goals, or even doing my every day things.

What was the main thing that brought you to the knot/ nest? What is the main thing that keeps you here now? I heard about the Knot years ago on Oprah of all things. Years later in 2005 when I became engaged, I decided to check out the website to start planning my own wedding. I stumbled upon the Canada board and then eventually moved over to the Nest! The encouraging and empowering women that I call my Nestie friends is what keeps me here.

  • I'm not on here much anymore, so maybe I'll re-introduce myself.

    I live in Ancaster Ontario.

    I am a Reading Recovery/Language Resource Teacher.

We will celebrate our 5th anniversary on July 19th and we have one son who is 3.

Interesting things about me? I take pole dancing. How's that?

I came to the Knot when I was planning our wedding, maybe even before I was engaged, which was 2002. I loved seeing what all the other brides were planning, although some of it was WAY over the top. I came over here after having our son and meeting a Nestie IRL. Now I spend most of my time on a private Nest spin-off board, but still find time now and again to check in here.

  • I am new, so I prolly shouldn't post, but I figured I would for those who I didn't get to know on the knot..

    1. Where are you from.  Georgian Bay area of Ontario

    2. What do you do (job/ school/ etc).  I graduated in April, and now I'm Personal Development Coordinator at the Military Family Resource Centre on the base where my hubby works.

    3. Married? Children?  Married.  No babies for a while hopefully.

    4. What is something you consider interesting about yourself? I occassionally drink the little vinegar packets (although I just heard on the radio a couple weeks ago that someone like Fergie (or someone else I less than respect) does that too to stay thin...it's not effective like that for me).

    5. What was the main thing that brought you to the knot/ nest? What is the main thing that keeps you here now? Having talked to a lot of these ladies on the Knot and finally being able to post here without being a weirdo.

  • Hey all! I definitely have some catching up to do with you, I've been MIA for a long while.

    1. Where are you from. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario.

    2. What do you do (job/ school/ etc). I'm a music therapist, currently working in long-term care. I also teach piano during the school year.

    3. Married? Children? Married last October, and we plan for children in... oh, 3-4 years.

    4. What is something you consider interesting about yourself? I have my blue belt in karate, but that was long ago. I think I stopped when I was 16. Oh here's a better one: I've found about 100 four-leaf clovers, including some five- and six-leaf. That was from years of being dragged around to my younger brother's "boring" soccer games! Now I love watching soccer.

    5. What was the main thing that brought you to the knot/ nest? What is the main thing that keeps you here now? Looking for wedding ideas brought me to the knot, and it was a few months before I made it to the nest. I stay because I enjoy you people and it's a great resource for ideas and advice.

  • Hi my name is Carrie Sorensen,

I live in Kingston Ontario born and raised.

I am a Casual Educational Assistant with the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board. I am currently doing and LTO position at one of the school here in Kingston 2 days a week until further noticed and supplying at other schools in between. Working toward a full-time position at one school.

I have recently Married, since August 24th 2013 almost a month tomorrow. We have two cats Marlon and Bella and are hoping to start trying to have a baby in December or January.

Intersting fact might be that I work for a catholic school board although I am not catholic.

What brought me here to the knot/Nest is I was planning my wedding and wanted to stay on budget and keep track of what I needed to do and get ideas so I signed up for the knot. Then I was transferred to The Nest after I married. I think the site is helpful with recipes and advice etc. so I may check it out from time to time and maybe on The Bump before I know it lol
