He's been known to go beyond "antics"....after the Bengals' loss to the Steelers in November, for example, he threw a hissy fit and made a point of stepping on a Terrible Towel. That's disrespectful, and it's poor sportmanship.

This bothers me not at all.  It's the Steelers.

So it would bother you if it was another team?

Hate on the Steelers if you want, but poor sportsmanship is equally bad regardless of whom you hate.

The Steelers aren't exactly the best of sportsman themselves.  Given the backstory and the history between the two teams, it doesn't bother me.

You're getting bent out of shape over someone stepping on a piece of cloth.  He didn't flip off the crowd.  He didn't taunt anyone.  He didn't curse.  He didn't hurt anyone.  In the grand scheme of things, I think you are overreacting.

Sorry, not bent out of shape at all - actually, I'm feeling rather amused by this reaction to a simple observation of poor sportsmanship. You might have noticed I'm not the only one who replied to this thread who finds OC annoying.

Sure, a lot of people hate the Steelers, which is fine. I have some teams I hate myself. Yet the fact remains that a player being purposely disrespectfuI is just not cool (by some people's standards) regardless of who the target is. In other words, I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of your statement.

I think he is pretty funny and definitely adds an entertainment value to the sport. The "No Fun League" has really cut down on the celebrations and while I think that huge celebrations that take up too much time might not be right, celebrations certainly add to the entertainment side.

On a side note, I follow him on Twitter and while some of his updates are a bit crazy, I had no idea he did so much for his fans. He frequently will post an update saying something like "to my fans: meet me at ____ restaurant, first 75 people get dinner on me" and then he will post a picture later of him with his fans. He has also taken fans out shopping and to the movies.  As a professional athlete, he could be out in the clubs or partying but he chooses to spend some of his free time with his fans and showing them how grateful he is. I really appreciate that and think it is pretty cool.

He lives not too far from me and I think he is hilarious. If you deal with Mike Brown as a GM you have to have something to excite the city. He is a huge downer here in the city but Chad lightens it up!
