Re: Girl Power!!!!!
I know, I know . . . he gives great speeches.
I find it funny that a long time ago nobody even cared about how the President looked, and then TV changed all that. Debates have never been the same since they started being televised.
Now we have info almost 24/7 -- canidates will obviously fumble their words from time to time, but I think a person in the Oval Office should actually be able to use the English language correctly. Maybe they will even know grammar. Call me crazy???!!!!!
Oh, as far as McCain and Bush . . . McCain has said over and over again that he doesn't see anything wrong with the way the current admin has run things. That sounds like he wants to keep things the same. (Even though he used to feel differently, now he has to toe the line)
For more info, look at the websites. I have researched Obama and McCain's websites and McCain really just continues what we already have right now.
Don't people know that Bush's approval rating is in the toilet? People don't like the way he is handling things -- so why would we want someone to continue down that same path? I just don't get it.
I will get off my soapbox now -- sorry!
Just to put my two cents in
I think it is imperative to have a president who can make great speeches - we are center stage for the rest of the world and having someone represent our country who can't speak well doesn't reflect well on us as a country. As far as the president being a vet - Bush can't say that, and he is the one who has our soldiers overseas. I agree we need to support our troops but I don't think you have to have served to be able to support them.
I am not saying that I am 100% Obama but so far I've seen more of him that I like than McCain. And honestly, the biggest thing holding me back from McCain are his plans for Iraq. I don't think he is the same as Bush but he doesn't think we need to start bringing our troops home and I have to disagree.
On another note - I was in Europe a few weeks ago and it was very interesting to watch the news over there and see how the media there reports on the presidential election.
