  • We're not 100% sure we'll have more than 1.  I always wanted 2, but after the difficulties and stress we went through to get pregnant (and there was nothing wrong with either of us), I just don't know.  We'll see after this one comes along.  If we do decide to go for it, ideally I'd like them to be 3-4 years apart.

  • I'm not sure that we will TTC a #2, #1 has been hard enough! I don't think I can go through all this. We'll see how I feel after this one comes home with us though Smile

  • I'm not pregnant, but we are possibly going to start trying for a second at the end of this year.  Right now that sill seems far enought away though.  Talk to me in a few months and it MIGHT get pushed off a bit.

This will sound completely crazy, but a small reason that I want to start trying towards the end of this year is because I would love to get pregnant towards the end of Dec/early Jan.  I kind of want a September baby because it's not right next to Isabella's birthday (or my birthday or my husband's birthday), but mostly because I really want a kid with a sapphire birth stone.  Isabella is April, and therefore diamond.  So, a sapphire/diamond combo would be super awesome!  hehe

Yes, I know that makes me sound materialistic.  And obviously it isn't THAT important to me, and I'm sure it won't work out that way since it's obviously pretty much impossible to plan out due dates...  But a girl can hope?  ;-)

  • P.S.  I'm basically kidding about the sapphire/diamond thing.  I know so many people have trouble trying to conceive, and I'm not trying to sound insensitive.  It just popped in my mind as being a potentially awesome thing to shoot for...  ;-)

I really just want our kids to be about 2.5 - 3 years apart, and thus we will likely start trying towards the end of this year.

  • We aren't fully trying as I am paying of debt but we are doing nothing to prevent right now.  Hopefully we will be debt free (minus house and car) in about 3-4 months so we can start seeing the RE again and really TTC.

we wont at all. but possibly adopting an older child is what we will be doing. apodtion is pricey imo and we have started a savings fund for it in case but if we decide against it we plan to use that savings fund and pay for someone else's adoption cost.

Would you consider foster to adopt?  If so, it'll cost you nothing and actually the state will pay you as you go through the process!  And there are lots of really cool, great kids in foster care.  My friend Gabby was a foster child who was adopted when she was 13.  She isn't violent or messed up.  A little crazy (and Gabby is a nickname so that should give you an idea of her personality!) and quirky but very sweet and caring.  And because she was a foster child the state pays for her college education and health insurance until she's 26 (this is California, btw, I'm not sure of Arizona's programs).

that sounds great. i'll def start to look into that to get informed as much as possible. we are about 4 yrs so away from making such an important decesion...we did contact the jewish family service place - something or other - and got some basic info on adoption. next time we meet with our rep i'll make sure to ask about this...thx for the info.

AZ is real similar to CA.  DH and I plan on doing a foster-adopt and possibly starting the paperwork this October.  I have done my homework on it, so if you need any info feel free to send me a PM.

  • my siblings and I are all about 2 years apart and I liked the spacing of us. So we'll see how I feel after our first comes...  I want 2, DH is leaning towards 3 kiddos, so we'll see what the future holds.
