okay I had to start a new post. Thank you all for answering my poll below. I just went to VS and Target today and got some pj's that seem cute but are also comfy.
Anyway....I had no idea so many people slept naked. I tried it when we first got married and I didn't like it. I've always been so self conscious about my body and now I'm a good 25lbs overweight and I just don't want to feel my rolls, lol.
But my question is, do you wear something around the house and then strip down before bed? Or do you walk around naked?
Even if I felt good about my body, I would be afraid that if something happened in the middle of the night like a fire, I would not want to bother getting dressed first. Has this ever been a problem? And what if you have kids and they come into your room in the middle of the night and see boobz? Of course, I am a weirdo who worries about stupid stuff like that.
Sorry for so many questions. I'm fascinated by the nude sleepers. I'm tempted to try it again.
Re: For those of you that sleep in the nude...
when I do yea I just strip down before bed. Clothes are usually on the floor. lol
We don't have kids so that isnt a problem yet.

When I get home from work I usually change in to a tank and yoga pants or boxers while we cook dinner/hang out. H usually just hangs out in his underwear, lol. We're classy people. Anyway, before bed I usually take my clothes off next to the bed. It's just something I've started the past few months. I have been having difficulty sleeping and the slightest bit of annoyance from a wedgie or tshirt wrapped around me will wake me up and then it takes me forever to fall back asleep. Occassionally being naked bothers me so I sleep in a big tshirt or nightie. I'm just a weird/difficult sleeper.
As for what would happen if we woke up in the middle of the night to something, my pre-sleep clothes are always right next to the bed or our bathroom is right next to the bed and I could just grab a robe.
H cooks me breakfast every morning and I always wake up and go down the hall to eat in whatever I'm in... or not in. We don't have children and we're both comfortable enough with each other that it doesn't phase us to be naked.

glove slap. I don't take crap.
We're naked, 70% of the time we're at home. haha.
I usually just leave a t-shirt and shorts next to the bed if I have to get up in the middle of the night.
We both sleep naked, always have, even when we were just dating. It's better! I hate wearing tshirts or pants/shorts to bed because they always get twisted around and it's too hot. I have to have a cold room and lots of blankets when sleeping.
If it was just us living here I'd probably be okay with walking around in the buff, but we have a roommate, so usually I restrict the nekkidness to our bedroom. There have been a couple times when the dogs were puppies and I had to run outside with them at 3am and I was naked, but I don't think anyone saw (fenced backyard and I didn't turn the light on).
Now if I was COOKING, I'd probably want something on. It seems more hygienic and besides, I don't need hot oil or something splattering on me.
I never could either until I got pregnant. About 2 weeks ago, my tanks started riding up at night and between the back pain and my core temp being about 175 degrees it's just easier to sleep naked.
I do wear a tank and boy shorts or something around the house, then strip down to my underwear to sleep most nights.
I sleep in underwear only and I just strip down right before bed and leave the clothes on the floor by the bed until the next morning. I don't have children so no issue there.
I live in a high rise condo and we did have a fire alarm before and I just threw on the clothes on the floor. No biggie. :-)
I have always hated sleeping in pants because they ride up the legs and sleeping in only underwear is so much more comfy.

Funny yet not so funny story about sleeping in the nude and fires.
A few years ago I was at my ex-H's house on Christmas night. The whole immediate family was up late playing board games. His step dad was sleeping.
Long story short, my ex-SIL's bedroom caught on fire. The door to her bedroom was super snug and sealed tight so we had no idea that nearly her entire room (less then 20ft away) was engulfed in flames until the glass in the windows broke from the heat.
ex-MIL went to investigate the breaking glass and discovered the fire. In the rush to get out my ex-MIL banged on her bedroom door and yelled "Bob, the house is on fire. GET OUT". The fire was within feet of his bedroom door. As I'm grabbing the dog I look up and see my ex-FIL run out of the bedroom in a sleepy fog, completely naked to see WTF was going on.
Scarred me! FWIW, he was able to run back in and grab some PJ bottoms that apparently he always kept near the bed.
OMG Kermie, I don't know which would traumatize me more. The fire or seeing my FIL naked.
I also hate when clothes are twisted which is why I abandoned all my cutsey silk stuff from VS that I bought when we first got married. Poor DH. So now only wear cotton.
I do like the idea of a big t-shirt and underwear to sleep. This way, I'm free but not totally naked. Now in winter, I'm all about my flannel pj's. I don't know of any way to be cute and warm at the same time so it's flannel from November -March for me.

I usually just wear my work clothes around the house until bed (I work in casual clothes). Occasionally I change into comfy, pj-like clothes until I go to bed. I have a bathrobe hanging in our bedroom that I would grab if I needed to get out of the house ASAP. And no kids yet, but I will probably wear pjs when we have kids.
