everyone has the fever...
I have HOUSE fever!! Like really bad now. We shouldn't have done it, but we went to look at the outside of a few the other day. Yesterday I started talking w/a realtor & now I've been checking out listings & want to go see them!! Ahhhh...I can't wait to get a house! I'm in love, lol! Anyone w/me on this one?!?
Re: everyone has the fever...
Aww I remember that craze! House hunting was so much fun Sometimes I still find myself thinking about the "other" house I loved. It was so fun to imagine what you would do with the spaces.
It's even greater to actually do it though
Good luck!
Every big decision has to start somewhere.
I wish I could have house fever as I'm starting to itch for something with a bit more room than our little townhouse. I have kitchen and craft room envy right now. Unfortunately we're going to need to stay there for a while with the market the way it is and we really don't NEED more room.
Thanks Jaye! I love house-hunting, but yet it's also frustrating! I know what you mean though...it's so fun to think about what to do w/things.
I keep hearing you Surprise ladies say about Marley Park. We drove past the other day...is it still up & coming?? It looked nice, but not full at all yet.
They have quite a few homes in there and it has been there for a bit now, but i think they are still expanding they are bringing in Khavonian(sp?) and richmond american homes. And i love both their exterior styles I love, the house we are in now is a Richmond American Home.... IMO I am not a fan of the floor plans of the khov home but that is mostly because i have a very detailed list of likes and dislikes in homes...
I have been looking at houses a lot lately too and while we were originally talking about waiting 6 years for that we might be bummping that up to two or three years away...
I think it is pretty big but not overly huge. The parks inside there are amazing, as is the club house area and the rec area. The only thing I don't like is the majority of the houses are very close together. Closer then other developments I've seen and most of them don't have much of a back yard (again.. most houses out here don't have much either but MP seems much smaller).
I like that it isnt over developed though. Keeps it quaint and cozy..
I think a lot of that is because if the sizes of the houses... but i do love the "small town" feel you get driving through there...
You have house fever AND baby fever? I think I'd explode with all the excitement and anticipation. If you get cabin fever you'll have the trifecta.
hahahaha seriously. i have to get out of the house at least once a day. which is why i spend so much money, which sucks. i can't wait till it's nicer out and we can go play at the park and stuff
We DID have the fever...it's gone away now, unfortunately.
Yes, we so desparately one esp. now that we're expecting but it's hard to be excited when the process has already taken 8 months with no end in sight.
If we were willing to move to the West Valley, we'd have no problem but it's just too far for us when we both work in Tempe. Plus, I really do like the East Valley.
Are you guys still on hold with the same house?
Aww I definitely remember that feeling! Looking at houses is so much fun! We found our house pretty fast, only looked at about 15 houses and I adored it. Sometimes I want to call my realtor friend and have her take me looking at houses just for fun haha!
Stacy - what is going on with your house situation?!?
OMG...yes. I just wish it would go into Forecloser now. This seller is being a REAL pain in my ASSSSSSS!!!
Good luck! Are you planning on staying in Glendale??
Aww, that's disheartening Stacy! I feel for you guys w/having so much trouble! Yeah, you prob. would have a much easier time in the West Valley. The realtor told us we'd be able to get a lot more for our money in the West side too. There are some really nice houses for good prices out here. I'm sooo pissed we have to wait at least another 5 months til they'll even freaking pre-approve us! Don't blame you though...I wouldn't drive from Tempe up here either, every day.
Oops, thought you were in or near Glendale.
DH and I have had house fever for a long time now. We are set on moving into Marley Park no matter what! lol
I asked DH the other day if we could drive over to MP to take our dogs for a walk...lol

Guess I'm gonna have to check this MP out a lil more, since you ladies think it's so wonderful! We're apparently missing out, haha!
You sure are!
Go look at the model homes!!!

Their HOA fees might be a lot, but they include a ton...
Yard maintenance, cable, internet, basic phone, roof repair, painting of the outside of your house, the 2 pools, all the parks and rec center and I believe I am forgetting a few. So, really if you deduct the fees that it would generally be for those services, it is pretty low...
just saying..
That is the funny thing, it's not even gated lol! You would think it would be though for all the love of it.
The houses in MP are more original then other places. Like in our development, we have like 4 different "Style" houses but they are all the same colors or whatever. It's very cookie cutter. MP isn't like that as much. Yes, they have a lot of the same houses, but the colors are way different. The houses don't look all the same. I think it is very original in there. It's nice to look at.
It is so clean and well taken care of in there too! But with $200 in HOA fees it doesnt surprise me (but again.. that isnt even high considering what is included).
At my current house, he HOA is like 73$ a month. THat includes umm maintenance of the parks and public ways. All house maintenance falls on the owners. And there are no other ammenities. Wait, we have a rec center, my bad...
This, my community HOA fees I *think* are $39 and that is like jess said for maintenance of the parks and public ways. but they don't do that very well... I think the reason i really like MP is that the houses are alot like what I am used to from Cali and it has a very neighborly small town feel which I love....
