Speaking of bedroom decor, I just came across this Wall Street Journal article posted on Yahoo's homepage.

    Down With Comforters!

Interesting. I've never had any issues with my duvet (my duvet has polyester fill) and cover.  For someone who has a tiny washer, the duvet cover is a fantastic invention. I don't have to try and stuff a king size comforter in my washer or go broke getting it professionally cleaned.

Yep, me too.  I love being able to wash the cover at home on a regular basis, particularly since my cats spend the greater part of their days and nights on it.

The article also talked about how hot comforters are hot, but that just makes me thing that those people don't live in a cold climate.  I think I would freeze with just a blanket or two on my bed!

I say Stick out tongue to who ever wrote that article.  I adore my down comforter and duvet.  It is so easy to wash, and I am never hot under it.   And for the part about them not looking neat, they must not know how to make a bed.  If I fluff my comforter after I make the bed it looks great.   (Until someone sits on it, which is how I knew someone laid in my bed during an open house we had. Creepy.)

  • I have some *serious* issues.

A cousin just posted on FB that she is pregnant and having a girl.  She had a baby about 3 months before T was born too.

When I read it, I got a little jealous.

I have *ZERO* reason to be jealous.  Zero.  Zip.  Zilch. So why did I get a little jealous?

Also, I had no idea that she was pregnant, and they already know they are having a girl.  What the heck.  At least I wasn't the only one who didn't know.  No one else seemed to know, at least on FB.

  • Speaking of decorating Brian "broke the news" to me that he wants to switch out the tile on the kitchen counter tops. For those of you who don't know or remember my kitchen story, he decided last Jan to redo the kitchen floor. Because of the multiple and multiple layers of old flooring and lack of time, it took until end of summer to finish that project. Then we had to repaint the walls because the bottoms of the walls where the baseboard were messed up. Well with a fresh coat of paint, our cupboards were looking dingy (they are painted white). So for the past 3 months or so, I haven't had doors on my cupboards.  They are all painted and some are back on. Hopefully he will finish this week (he has to pain the front of the cupboard before he puts the doors back on). So I was thinking - hey maybe he can actually put the new sink in and finish the doors and we will be done!!  Nope, not yet.  Ughh.  I am excited to get the new counter tops.  I would like something more neutural than what he had put in the first time around.

Once he finishes the kitchen I can see him saying the dining room needs a fresh coat of paint and then the living room will. He also has to redo the tile in the shower. Gah!!! I wish he would hire a handy man sometime.

I can't compain because he does a really good job and it has saved us a ton of money. I'm just sick of having projects hang over our heads all the time and then being soley responsible for the girls on weekends while he is doing house projects.

  • I went to the dentist for the first time in 1.5 years. No cavities and I was told I have very healthy teeth. Yay!  My mouth is very sore right now though. I had to have a full set of xrays - like 16 of them and then there was a lot of scrapping to be done since it has been so long.

Confession: I just visited GRAR after Molly's mention of seeing a new house.  DH and I have briefly talked about when we're going to start looking for a new house.  It's not for awhile yet (like, years) but dreaming is fun.

I hope on there eery few months just to check the prices in the neighborhood or if I see a house that peaks my interest. I've been watching a house on out street for the last year or so. It went on the market at 109,900 and now is listed at 49,900. It makes my wonder how much "under water" we are with our house?

I am one of those people who finds them too hot.  I don't know if it's the down or what, but I can't use our down comforter because I always wake up in the middle of the night sweating.  Andy uses it and I just use a sheet and cotton blanket.

Yay for a good appointment.  :)

It's horrible right now.  And the prices are still dropping.

We looked at a house a few weeks ago.  It sold in 2007 for $125,000.  It's on the market for $39,900 right now.

I'm ready to get my claws into some of these houses!

That's awful.  I would be unhappy about that.

Did I really type " hot comforters are hot"?!  LOL  But yeah we bought one that was suppose to be good for warmer climates since H's runs really hot.  As long as I can stick one foot out I'm good.

I was more unhappy that someone left a deuce in our guest room bathroom.  We never go in there.  Luckily I was walking by and noticed the hand soap was on the opposite side of the sink, so I went in to move it and noticed the status of the toilet.  Eww.

Needless to say I am not very excited about this Sunday's open house.

Sorry Mol.  Does he have to stay out of daycare till it is cleared?

I just decided I'm never selling my house.  I couldn't handle that.  Ew.

  • GVSU: maybe Jim and Brian could do the backsplash together?  ;)

Mira: no!  NO!  They did not lie in your bed and use your toilet without flushing.  Ew.  It's like a really rude Goldilocks.  And now I don't want people to show the house.  Ever.  Ew.

Mol, Hope T's eye clears up soon.  Wash your hands like crazy.  Pink eye is the devil.
