Well losing my virginity was kinda a (private) party in itself! But I agree the whole issue of your first period is not something I would want the whole world to know about.

I like the mother and daughter bonding actives are better and not so "Advertising." What if the girl's a late bloomer, but wanted to be like her friends and lied to them about already having it or just not talking about it. I think if such a party were to be planned, the daughter needs to decide, some girls may be all about it.
