Re: AW/Chit-Chat Thurs

  • Life without birth control is such a whip.
  • AW: I have officially lost 40 pounds. I knew that once I got pregnant I would no longer lose weight, so I set 40 lbs lost as my first goal. My second goal is 50 lbs before pregnancy, which I kind of want to hit but then also kind of don't as not hitting it would mean we were urban legends with the first month off BCP pregnancy. It's really a no-lose though - 50 lbs lost or have a baby - both big deals. :)

My aunt and cousin are coming over at 1:30 today to work on a family cookbook I sort of volunteered to put together. I said it might be interesting and then it was decided in my family that based on our wedding photo books, I was the one to put it together. I will cherish the finished product, the idea of the input of 30 women and me having to please them all seems really daunting though.

Ok - I can't figure out how to respond - a whip is a bad thing or a good thing? I feel like an idiot.

  • Leslie that's awesome!!! Congrats!! You should feel very proud!

Pretty sure she means whip as in a beating. From what I understand going off BCP isn't fun on the body.

I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday and I can sleep in. Oh and we are going to see Eli Young tomorrow night, yay!

    #1 Thank you!!!

#2 I thought that might be the meaning, but surprisingly for me coming off BCP has been awesome. After being on them for 14 years straight I honestly feel like I have really been cheating myself. It will be hard for me to go back on the pills post-baby. Then again, once my monthly friend comes back full force this tune might change!!

Leslie, totally agree!  WAY TO GO!

OMG Eli Young... love them!  Have a blast!

My AW is I'm off tomorrow and am going to see my mom again in Magnolia!  I'm so excited, I normally don't see her, but maybe every 3 months.  My little sister is getting baptized Sunday also, I'm so proud of her!!

  • That is so awesome Leslie.

Have fun on Friday, Summer.  I found out last weekend that we were invited to something the weekend before that and Stoney LaRue was playing.  I regret not going but some other time.

I went to bed at 8:30 last night.  I set my alarm for 6 so I could get up and work out but I realized at 7 am, it was set for PM.

  • Congratulations, Lisa!!!!

I think I have managed to kick my illness myself without having to spend eleven days in the hospital.  I'm still taking it easy and all but I'm feeling pretty good and I don't have delusional little old ladies trying to steal my shoes!!!

Today, I'm having to go to the Dallas Summer Musicals office at Preston and Royal to change our tickets for Spamalot.  The drive could be a beating.

    Love Stoney LaRue!

DH and I had a blast at the Red, White, and Blue Festival in Highland Village last weekend seeing Bart Crow and Josh Abbott. We went with my SIL and her FI. I told DH even though I'm taking summer school I'm determined to still make the most of my summer!

  • Congrats Leslie!  I was doing really good before the wedding and then for a few weeks after the wedding.  I need to start eating better again.

The first month of BCP was a beating for me.  It came almost a week early and came with a vengence.  Horrible cramps and lasted longer and was heavy.  I'm hoping my body will be a little nicer to me this month!

Leslie, I went to Walgreens last night.  I bought only the items I went in for and before coupons or savings the total was $35.53 and after I gave them all the coupons and stuff my total was $12.76 plus got the $5 RR for next time.  I told DH I had to go buy another razor so we could get more RR so that next time I'd be spending like $5 or so for everything.  He was inpressed and I was excited it worked.  I'll be getting an extra paper this week so I can have more coupons.  DH bought me the double paper last week so I had 2 sets of coupons, this week I'll try 3.  Thanks again for all the help!

LET'S GO MAVS!  They have to win tonight!

Me too! I pretty much love Texas Country in general. DH and I are going to see Cory Morrow next weekend at Billy Bob's. My BFF's husband is the drummer's uncle, so we are doing the whole backstage thing, which will be cool. DH is excited as it is a Live at Billy Bob's recording session too.

  • I bought my 3rd pair of super cute YellowBox flip flops last week and they should arrive in the mail tomorrow. Super stoked about that. Is that an AW?

It's the small things in life. And don't knock them until you've tried them. You will never wear another kind of flip flop again! Heaven on your feet!

DH and I were just talking about going to that show.  I love Cory Morrow.  DH is still getting into Texas County but he like Billy Bob's so I'm hoping we can go.

Awesome! I am glad it worked and your DH was happy!

I was going to tell you that Albertson's is running a really great sale right now. I got Crest toothpaste for $0.27/ea and Charmin 12 packs for $3.24/ea both using coupons that were in the paper this last Sunday. You have to buy 4 participating products (you can mix and match - 2 toothpastes, 2 TPs, etc.) to get the lower price, but since you have two sets of coupons the deals will work out well for you.

There are also a lot of B1G2 free and B1G1 free deals (including meats) and a $5 off $50 coupon in the ad you get mailed to the house (or the Wednesday paper if you take it.) DH actually grabbed me and kissed me after I brought all the bags in yesterday and showed him the receipt. :)

ETA: One more tibit then I will shut it on the coupons - Since you are buying another razor - if they have it in stock get the regular ProGlide rather than the power version - It has an extra cartridge in it, so is actually a better deal. :) I just realized this yesterday when I had to buy a power version and was bummed their wasn't an extra cartridge.

  • No AW here.  Our hot water heater busted.  We had to turn the water off to the entire house due to some issues turning it off just to the water heater.  We stayed in a hotel.  We finally got in bed at midnight.  Our alarms didn't go off this morning.  I was late for work.  The property manager still hasn't called regarding the plumber.  Today sucks.
  • Sorry for the post and run.  An emergency meeting came up at work and I have been away from my desk.

Lesalyric and Summer-  No BCP has been a total bummer for me.  After I stopped, I didn't get a "visitor" for 6 weeks, which was awesome.  Then last night I got a surprise while working out...only three weeks after the end of the last one.  BOO.  Also, my skin really misses the BCP.

I am person that really likes schedules and knowing what to expect so this no BCP is cramping my style.

  • I would just like to throw it out there - I loooove Texas Country.  I went to Tarleton State (well, I was enrolled there anyway... lol) and it was awesome to be around that music everywhere!  Stoney, Roger Creager, CCR, Jason Boland, Cory Morrow, Django Walker... I could go on and on.

Do you mean the power version that has the batteries?  DH won't use that kind so I got the one without the battery.  It has 2 extra cartridges.

I already have the meats we will eat circled and my $5 off $50 coupon cut out!

(Sorry for all the coupon talk ladies!)

  • I've lost 5 pounds... not as amazing as Leslie, but I'm proud of myself.  Also, I ordered wedding albums for my parents and DH's mom yesterday, and some canvases from Canvas on Demand the day before that (one wedding, two sunsets).  And I finished touching up my dining room paint job last night, so tonight is cleanup, and it'll be done!

It's by far DH and my favorite kind of music. Which is why we would love to live in Austin.

The Texas circuit isn't horrible down here in Dallas, but isn't near what it is in Austin. It's like Mecca down there. I eat it up every time we go.

It's a mixed bouquet of white daisies, white Gerber daisies, white lilies, light green carnations, green spider mums and something that we don't know.  They make the office smell really nice, especially when you walk in first thing in the morning.  It was a nice surprise for the first day of school for sure.

Sara, are you TTC or going off BCP for other reasons?

We are basically preparing to TTC.  Per my doctors instructions, I needed to be off BCP for two months prior to TTC, but since I buy the BCP in 3 month increments, I just stopped taking it after the last one I had.  I also had to get some shots that require waiting for three cycles prior to TTC.

Since I am rule follower, we are currently just following rules!
