No AW here.  Our hot water heater busted.  We had to turn the water off to the entire house due to some issues turning it off just to the water heater.  We stayed in a hotel.  We finally got in bed at midnight.  Our alarms didn't go off this morning.  I was late for work.  The property manager still hasn't called regarding the plumber.  Today sucks.

That sucks!  :-(  I'm really sorry!

    Thanks Sarah.

I bought my 3rd pair of super cute YellowBox flip flops last week and they should arrive in the mail tomorrow. Super stoked about that. Is that an AW?

It's the small things in life. And don't knock them until you've tried them. You will never wear another kind of flip flop again! Heaven on your feet!

I would say that's a good AW because I absolutely love those flip flops!!  They are totally Heaven on your feet!!

some canvases from Canvas on Demand the day before that (one wedding, two sunsets).

I have yet to pick my picture for our Canvas...I still have 2 more months until it expires.

  • imagesparklingdiamond:

Are they going to fix it today?

I sure hope so.  The property manager is supposed to call the plumber today.  Can you fix a busted hot water heater, though?  Or do you just have to buy a new one?

  • Lacey - That sucks about your water heater.  I hope they can get that fixed quickly so you don't have to stay in a hotel for another night!

We had this issue a couple of Sunday's ago and it does completely suck.  I hope your day gets better.

  • Re BCP: I have been taking it for like 8 yrs...the first month or two was torture, I felt basically pregnant, nausea and cramping.

    WARNING: Maybe TMI

Two weeks ago my doctor screwed up my prescription and I had to go without BCP for a week...WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! I felt great!! And I was wanting to do the nasty with DH like EVERY day (but could not because I was not on the BCP). We do not want kiddos so BCP is pretty important for me to take...so I started back up on Monday again...lo-and-behold it killed my sex drive (well killed it to not wanting it every day)! UGH!! I HATE BCP...but it is the closet way I can try to prevent pregnancy....

Being a girl really stinks sometimes Sad

  • Way to go Leslie!  Our firm is doing The Biggest Loser and I am joining on the next round.  We weigh in tomorrow.  I hear the pot is $300 this time.  My ultimate goal is 10 lbs. but I don't think I can reach that in 5 weeks so I am aiming for 5.  (And I know what you are all thinking but 10 lbs. would get me back to around what I was at the wedding.)

Winning isn't even my goal but I think it will motivate me.  Plus when all your coworkers are watching your every move, that's motivation as well.  The attorneys that aren't playing are taking bets on us that are.

    Leslie- AWESOME job girl!!!

Lacey - that sucks.  I hope it gets fixed today.

We had some outdoor pipes burst when it froze earlier this earlier this year, so we had to shut the water off to the house for days until it thawed and we could get a plumber out. We had them install a shutoff valve when they repaired it.  DH is extending our deck, so he had to extend those pipes.  HE had the valve shut off while working, but wasn't able to finish.  Well, it is a lever, so off is horizontal, and on you push the lever down.  The dog layed down right there and pushed the lever down, so we had water gushing out an open pipe into our backyard all day yesterday.  DH said the whole backyard was under water when he got home.  D'oh!

CRC - can't you use other forms of bc?  I didn't like being on the pill so we use Natural Family planning, but there are many other options as well.

  • Chelsea,

I agree about being off making you feel pregnant. I missed the first 3 pills of my new pack last month and it messed up my hormones so bad I thought I was pregnant and had all the symptoms. And I only missed 3!!

I couldn't ever do the "natural birth control" methods. Too risky in my opinion. You mess up or "miscalculate" just by a day and BAM. I'll stick with the pill and do better about not missing.

Me and Ex Hubby did what they used to call the "calendar method" when I went off the pill.  We were planning to conceive but were going to give my body a few months off the pill first.  I miscalculated by one day and got pregnant with Melodie.

Yep. And it makes my periods so light they only last about 3 days and I hardly cramp at all. Can't beat that.

I think there are more accurate methods than just counting days.   It is actually very effective from what I've read.

I know a few older Catholic ladies who have done NFP for years and have the standard 2.5 (completely planned) kids. It can be done successfully, it just takes work and like everything else involving reproduction, is not for everyone.

TMI for realz: As for going off BCP making you want to do it all the time - that my friends is a big, huge, yes! I told DH I feel like I have been hormonally stilted all these years -  my teen years would probably have been one big slutty mess if I had been this hot and bothered, so it is likely a blessing. Haha!

Yes, it's an IUD, but they do have horomones in them, unless you specifically request that it doesn't.  I have the Mirena and it has hormones. Lots of hormones.

  • I'm glad this TMI is online, because I wouldn't be able to look any of you in the eyes because I'd be too embarassed right now.

Correct me if I am wrong...but I thought you could only have this done if you have already had at least one child?? Also, I have "heard" (not a reliable source, just through the grapevine) that a guy can "feel" an IUD!

LOL!  That was great.  And yes going off of them is like turning into a guy (without all the nasty, gross boy stuff they do).  I can tell a huge difference.  DH noticed to and asked what was up with me all the sudden.  I don't know if I ever want to go back on BCP!

Really.  Aside from you, everyone who has the IUD and praises it it has always emphasized it's hormone free, which is why it's so much better than everything else out there.  Shows how much I know.
