What do you think about the restaurant banning kids?
Re: What do you think about the restaurant banning kids?
I love that girl more every day. Bwahhhh
LOL!
Skinny jeans, thick rimmed glasses... and there's usually a scarf (I saw a scarf yesterday. In Houston. YESTERDAY.) and a vintage Smurfs or Atari t-shirt involved.
i do NOT get the scarf as summer accessory thing... at least not in Houston. looks so stupid.
Uggs... Who the H-E- double hockey sticks wears UGGS in HOUSTON in the middle of the freaking summer?
to the zoo in the summer!?
There was a guy at the wedding we went to in Key West with a handlebar moustache. He was maybe 30. With curly q's at the ends that he totally had to "style".
Total hipster.
Yeah, it's just that kind of neighborhood. People are always out and about with their kids and there are some restaurants (Berryhill, for ex) that would not do much business without the family contingent. But families are the majority there and in that case, anyone who doesn't want to be around kids needs to go elsewhere.

I don't have kids myself, but I always enjoy seeing families out doing things together. I respect a restaurant owner wanting to limit customers to a certain age group, but I think it really misses the issue.
The only time I get annoyed is when a parent is not parenting their child, but that has nothing to do with the kiddo. Perfect example is Lupe Tortilla. By all accounts that is a restaurant that is kid-friendly. But one night I watched some 5-year-old run around the sand box, throwing sand into the eyes of at least 6 kids. All the adults were looking for his parents. I finally got so mad that I walked up to the kid and asked him to take me to his parents...who were inside at the bar drinking margaritas. No one in their group was even bothering to watch this boy, which made me really sad for him. At that point I really wanted to toss a margarita on the mom, but what does that solve? This is just one example of many that I have witnessed when parents disengage while their kids are playing in that sand box, but that is a family-friendly restaurant, and I guess it is to be expected in this day and age.
Meanwhile, I could sit next to a table with a 6-month-old at a bar in Germany, and it is completely accepted and part of the culture. I kind of like that culture, but I suspect it doesn't translate as well in the States.
