Dear Person,
I question your intellect. I really do.
Dear Cats,
You need to bother Bill when his alarm goes off but he doesn't get up. He's the one teasing you--not me!
Dear Lightning,
I saw you--bring your friend rain with you. All day until 3 PM if you like.
Re: OL Tuesday
Dear Nesties - Woo hoo, it's a morning day! - Leslie
Dear HIIT - I am glad you are awesome for fat burning but my body hurts all over today. I have a 5 o clock with Jillian Michaels tonight, hopefully I can make it. - Leslie
Dear Rain -
I know some people don't like you, but I think most of us do. Please, stick around.
Dear Michelle -
We had so much fun at Kickball last night! Thanks for inviting us. And it was really great to finally meet you!
Dear body -
You are not nearly as sore as I was expecting. High-five!
Dear allergies -
Ok, I get it. Go away.

Dear Brianna,
I forgot my Zyrtec last night and I'm feeling it a little this morning.
Dear Dallas Electric Cos:
I felt like I was solving a complicated math problem trying to pick a plan, and a company, and the best bonus offer. All I want is power for cheap. Too many options!
Dear Self:
You are your own worst enemy. Quit doubting yourself and get on with it.
Dear Aretha:
You + coffee = a great start to the morning.
Dear 3 day weekend-
You could not come at a better time.
Dear DH-
Thanks for all of your help over the last few days and for not listening to me.
Dear "friend"-
You are one way to my face and another behind my back and it doesn't feel so good.
Dear rain-
It was so great having you this morning. I'm sorry I grumbled at the thought of having to walk in you to work so I hope that is not what made you stop.
Way to go Jaymi! Geez!
Dear cooler temps this weekend - Since I am visiting my grandparents I am looking forward to a long run in my childhood park this weekend. Stay cool long enough to make this happen! - Leslie
Dear Nesties,
I made a healthier version of little candy balls that taste like butterfinger, let me know if you want the recipe.
Dear Self,
I am so excited for the next two days but incredibly nervous. Our CEO and COO of our parent company are coming in to town (first time in 3 years) and I have to give them the overview for our department and I want to die! You can do this
-Nervous Nelly
You know we always want the recipes for things.
and
You can do it! You will be great!
Dear BL,
You can do it! You're going to be a total rock star, and they'll love you!
Dear people who don't like rain,
Shut up! Until Brianna's letter, I wasn't aware you existed. Now, we're at war. Even in non-drought conditions, I'd love to wake up to a nice drizzly rain every morning of my life. (Or at least as long as I live in a house with a metal roof).
Dear self,
Step it up today, huh? You haven't had on real clothes since you got home from church on Sunday morning, and as much fun as Law & Order marathons are, there's plenty of stuff you could be doing around the house.
Your positive thinking is inspiring - you'll do a great job!!!
And ditto Leslie - most definitely want the recipe.
Dear BL,
You are awesome - you got this.
Dear OMHs,
I love rain and wouldn't mind if it was always raining. Forever.
Dear Chelsea,
I love L&O Marathons!
Dear BL -
Go Bobbileigh, it's your birthday! Go Bobbileigh, you got this!
Dear Lauren -
It's ACTUALLY your birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

#1 - Cottage Care is here. This is good news as the office I work in is in BAD need of a cleaning.
#2 - I had a journal entry due for class at 9am. I logged in this morning and found out it was about the reading, which I planned to do at lunch today...so second day of class and already not turning stuff in. Gangbusters start to the semester! LOL.
#3 - I am bad at math. Like horrible. I am taking College Algebra for Liberal Arts Majors this semester and we don't even have a book. We work in groups and do word problems instead of crazy algebraic equations. We don't have to do the departmental final, the teacher creates it. I am praying this is the god-sent class I need to pass math.
WHYYYYYY didn't I have this option?!?!?! I would have literally hit someone with my car for a chance to enroll in that class 6 years ago.
I struggled so badly through college algebra, and was in danger of losing my spot in the Pres. Honor's Society if I didn't pull a B. Praise God my professor was one who was practical about the situation, and gave me an 82 even though there's no way I passed, because I went to EVERY tutoring session and cried at his desk like a dozen times. I am happy to report that I still can't do algebra, and I still have yet to find a situation where I needed it.
Also, dear Girl who posted a strangely flirty comment on my husband's facebook page this morning,
REALLY? We've been together nearly 8 years. Your crush was cute. Now it's a bit creepy. Most girls get over the "crush on the youth minister" thing before the graduate high school, and you're 5 years past that now.
Haha. I love when it's on the FB wall, too, so everyone can see it.
Once, just before we got engaged, DH posted something as his status like "tell Marie not to go on her business trip and stay in TX!" as a joke. A bunch of girls commented with weirdly veiled messages ... one being a girl who'd had an obvious crush on him in college and one his ex-girlfriend. The ex actually posted something to the effect of "tell Marie to stay in TX ... because she should appreciate TX ... one day she might look back and miss TX and wish she'd stayed ..."
It was pretty clear TX = DH, and it was just awkward.
Dear gals wanting the recipe,
http://www.preventionrd.com/chocolate-peanut-butter-pretzel-balls/
They are seriously yummy.

Dear encouraging ladies,
Thanks for all the comments, I just got out of a meeting to find out our COO is more the numbers/operations type of guy and the CEO is very feeling oriented so I need two seperate blurbs for them. Time to get writing because as long as I am prepared I should be good to go, this is a super exciting time for our company,
Dear ladies who manage people,
I have been given feedback that there are two people in our department that think I have favorites. They have come to this conclusion because I chat with some people more than others. I have a hard time making random conversation if we have nothing in common. I say hi to everyone but if we have nada in common I cant carry on lengthy convos with you. Many of my teammates ask for recipes or about workouts, weddings ect so obviously I will chat more with those people. I have no idea who the people that feel this way are so I cant make more of an effort with them. Any tips?
-Frustrated me
Dear Lauren,
Happy bday!!
RIGHT? That one IS pretty awkward.
I told Mack to delete the comment because it was making me uncomfortable, and he did. But it said, "Listening to "X" a lot lately, missing the old days and your incredible voice." and was followed up with a comment that said, "Love Song" still makes me melt."
Keep in mind... these are both praise and worship songs. Because he was her YOUTH MINISTER. But still... it just sounds creepy. She talks about "the old days" like they were hanging out personally, or dating or something. Not like she was one of 50 kids in a youth group he served in for less than a year.
I hate feeling like a harpy, asking him to get rid of it. But when one of our mutual friends messages me and says, "Who's the girl flirting on Mack's page? That's weird." Well, then it's not just me.
Dear Nesties,
Brianna is a badass at kickball.
Brianna,
Glad you came out last night! I got a few messages from the team asking that y'all play with us again! So we'll definitely let you know if we are ever short this season! (and hopefully y'all will want to play with us again!)
Dear Lauren,
Happy Birthday!
Dear BL,
Those kind of presentations always make me nervous. But you seem to have a great attitude about your job and team from everything you've posted so I'm sure you will do great!
As for the 'favorites' thing, this is one reason why managing people sucks, some people are just ridiculous. Is the complaint that because you are more friendly to some you give them a different workload, or just that you are friendlier to them?

I don't currently manage people, obviously, but I used to, and I had this mentioned in a review one year. I was just honest... I'm kind to everyone, and I'm fair in my delegation of work, but conversations naturally develop with the people I have the most in common with. My boss said, "That's what I figured, no big deal." And that was the last I heard of it.

Dear Hancock Fabrics,
Please hire my daughter at her interview on Thursday. She really needs a job and I know she'd be great. She loves to sew -- as should be evident by the time and money she has spent in your store.
Dear Table,
I hope the chair covers I bought for you work but even if they don't, I have made my peace with you.
Dear Book Club,
I started Unbroken last night because it looks long and I thought I better get a head start. I couldn't put it down and I can't wait to get home so I can read it tonight.

You are too kind! My scraped knee and hands say otherwise but it was a blast! We'd love to join whenever y'all need us.

I am so glad! I was kind of worried it was the history lover in me that loved the book and everyone else was going to hate it.
Michelle,
I dont really have any delegation of work as we have queues that divide out the work. Expectations are set in stone across the entire dept so those cant vary from person to person. Also, while I may have deeper connections with some teammates I can assure you I have put some of them on corrective action. That is one thing I am very much fair about you do the work or you get talked to about it I dont care who you are.
Chelsea,
Thats what I said but the problem is that they complained to HR and then told the HR person that she covers for me, so now I feel like I HAVE to change something.
I thought just reading about his childhood and teenage years was fascinating and then all the stuff about running and the Olympics--not even close to WWII yet and I'm really enjoying it.

Is Unbroken October's book club book? I miss one book club meeting and now I'm all sorts of lost.
Haha, well this one was a little different than usual, so don't feel lost! I read Unbroken and loved it so much I asked the girls if we could do it sometime after this month since reading two WWII novels in row (Book Thief) was a little much. They all agreed, so the October book is Unbroken.
I just realized last night that I have 2ish weeks to finish our September book. Then DH laughed because I haven't finished it yet. I do enjoy it, that's not the problem, it's time.
Yes, and September's book is the Art of Racing in the Rain which is an easy read. I think I read it in about 3 days. September meeting is 9/10 at Sara's house in Keller.
