Is Unbroken October's book club book?  I miss one book club meeting and now I'm all sorts of lost.

Haha, well this one was a little different than usual, so don't feel lost! I read Unbroken and loved it so much I asked the girls if we could do it sometime after this month since reading two WWII novels in row (Book Thief) was a little much. They all agreed, so the October book is Unbroken.

Everyone's reviews made me look this up on Amazon. It looks amazing!!! Just reading the book description, and I'm already dying to know what happens to him. I'm a sucker for books like this. Another one to add to my Kindle list.

Oh okay.  Got it.  :)  And I bought the book club book and plan to read it this weekend.

  • Dear Lauren,

    Happy Birthday!!!!

    Dear Chelsea,

We are true friends because only a true friend would tell you that staying in your PJs and watching Law and Order all day long is an admirable job and that someone has to do it since it can't be me.

    Dear Weekend Weather,

Even if you don't bring rain, please bring the cooler temperatures.  However, rain is welcome as well, even if it ruins our fajita cookout.

    Dear Julie -

    That's reason enough for me!

Mack told me when he came in for lunch... "Either get up and do something, or stop feeling guilty about not doing anything. Whichever one you pick is fine with me, but if you don't stop feeling guilty, you'll ruin the enjoyment you get from a lazy day." He's a smart man.

LOL.  Whenever I do it during the summer or a day off, Bill says that it's okay since I'm not working.  I have a smart one too.  :-)

My H is SO good for things like this. He always scoffs if I feel guilty about being lazy or something and says, "why would you feel guilty? You earned it with X, Y, and Z." (like working extra hours that week, scrubbing the bathtub earlier that day, whatever). It's justification for laziness and a compliment for something random I'd done earlier and forgotten about! It's perfect.

Anyone that works as many weekends as I'm sure you do deserves a lazy day (or two or three) during the week!

  • Hi guys,

I've been swamped at work today.  The senior-most non-manager person above me is quitting in two weeks, and the other senior-most non-manager person after her is getting moved to a different role... so that leaves me as the remaining senior person.  I do not know enough to be in that role - I am still the one asking lots of questions!  I am nervous and excited all at the same time, and worried about getting through our 9/15 and 10/15 deadlines.  T&Ps would be appreciated - that I can manage the additional workload, and that we'll be able to fill both of their positions quickly with quality people that I work well with.

Also, if you know any experienced tax professionals who need a job, we need to chat :)

    ~Angie

  • Chelsea- That would weird me out too and I think I would ask DH to remove it if some girl was posting stuff like that on his FB wall!

    Lauren- Happy Birthday!! :-)

    Angie- T&Ps your way!

Regarding the book club, I still need to get the book for this month.  I am just so far behind!  I need to step it up!

I was bad and ate bad food for lunch today :-(  But I will just have to be good the rest of the week!  Tonight is my brother's birthday and I am excited because even though he doesn't live that far from me, he is so busy that I don't get to see him often :-(

  • Dear Nesties,

It's finally slow at work, so I got a chance to come by and say hello :) I miss lurking over here.

I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

  • Ok so today has been crazy for me too!

    Lauren - Happy birthday

I am reading to book club book but I miss this one too since it looks like everyone is hanging out after the heart walk.

If you need help with your algebra hw I can help. I love math!

    Ok got to run!

  • Dear Self -

How are you "in charge" of something, but seemingly know nothing about what's going on... but another person who is not "in charge" does?  And nothing this person said holds water when you ask the people above you?  I've never had more head-scratching moments than I have in the last few weeks.

    - Seriously.  I'm curious.

  • Dear bsn,

Maybe those who are not in charge should shut their mouth and continue to not be in charge.  Just sayin.
