Re: AW Thursday
After 2.5 years, I have a new set of wheels. I drove myself to work today too.
This was my AW last week but I never got to post it: I finally got the go-ahead and we are going to get a VitaMix or something similar (one blog I read swears by Blendtec so I may check that one out).
Congratulations! I don't know how you guys shared a car for so long. I would have gone crazy without a car.
Yay for a new car and I swear by my vitamix but have never tried the blendtec so I dont have anything bad to say about it.
I had those moments, trust me! It worked overall, we only had a couple of times where it was an issue but we worked it out. As DH left this morning, he said "This is weird."
YAY ladies!
What kind of vehicle did you get, if you don't mind sharing?
Today is my last day at work and I'm off for 4 days! WooHoo!! I think we may go on a road trip, but we don't have a clue where to go that's not super hot.
Mack and I only have one car, as of this past March. Well... one real car. He has his GTO Convertible, but that's not one we drive unless driving it IS the activity. I don't know how long I'll last with just one regular car, even with us both working from home. I miss not having to think about one or the other of us being stranded!
Congrats! Yes I am way to use to having my own vechile. I'm sure he misses having you in the car though.

Yay for:
-September! Yesss!
-New Cars!
-Blenders!
-Holiday Weekends!
Perhaps I'm a little too chipper this morning?
copy cat!
Today is my Friday, and I'm off to NYC through Sunday. I get to have lunch with BL on Monday and that makes me happy
I had my review yesterday and had the top rating out of all the mgrs here; we had our merit increase opps taken away for another year, but my boss is trying to work around to get me a raise for my performance, but he's requesting it based on what the markete is paying elsewhere for my position. I was pretty negative going into my review cause I figured no matter how well I had performed I wouldn't benefit, but it made me feel so good knowing it was recognized and they were fighting to get me something.
I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?
I love it!
Wendi - It's good to hear they are fighting for you! Hope you get something.

No way! September is my fav!!
I'm partial to October... but at least we're getting there!
Those of you who are friends with me on FB will read my AW in about 10 minutes. Good day around here.
Congrats to everyone on your AW's! I really love the positive vibe going on today.
My AW: After having my girlfriends here for the weekend, I finally feel like I am out of my funk. I am in a much better mood and it is rolling over into everything I do. My morning routine is better (and on time!), my workouts are better, my blogging is more frequent, my eating is better and I am letting things at work just roll off my back.
Me too!

Yay for secret AW's!! Can't wait to hear it.
Sara - Can you link me to your blog again? I lost all of my favorites.
Ooooo Me three!!
October/November for sure!! Fall is by far my favorite time of year!!
McG, I'm not FB friends with you, but I hope you share your AW here, too!
ETA: Wonky "s" key not working

It just went up on the blog, as well. We have a Style Me Pretty feature today. w00t!
Fun little AW : I enjoy torturing Mack with surprises. I'm taking him on a surprise trip to San Antonio at the end of September, just for two nights, and I caught him today trying to ask me questions about the "schedule" in an effort to make me slip up and tell him where we're going. No such luck! It's gonna be fun!
I hope you do too! I can't really get on fb here, but obviously TN is good to go.

Me four!
Yay for blenders and trips and cars and possible merit increases and awesomeness all around. Yay for secret AW's.
I don't have anything to AW this morning...so yay for all of you!
I totally thought it was Friday today, then realized it was Thursday. So I ust spent the last 30 minutes doing a hail mary journal entry for my history class in two hours! We had to read a long paper, so I did the good ol skim read. Unfortunately, everyone can read the entries as they are made public, so everyone will know I am a big slacker! :P
Sara - No more funk is most excellent news. I hope this continues!
And a random: last night I was reading Texas Monthly and there was an article about this new book about quilts in Texas. The pictures were AMAZING. I will try to find them and post them. This caused me to ask DH if he thought I could take up quilting and I think I am going to look for a local class somewhere...just one more activity to add to my list!
Found the quilts:
For History's sake - the oldest (and very first!) quilt in Texas:
I really like that one too. The article said that it took the woman two years to piece all of the squares and then she put it all together in less than two months. She said she had no idea how she was going to put it together until she did it. In the end the design is based on a city layout with streets and communities. It's pretty awesome.
Tiffany- It is: http://secretsofsmc.blogspot.com/
Leslie- I hope you do start quilting to so I can hire you to make me a T-Shirt quilt out of all my college t-shirts. Graduated almost 10 years ago and they are still sitting in their Tupperware bin.
