Re: AW Thursday
Bio Good Times
Haha! I think by the time I would be ready for that you would be collecting nursing home shirts.
I plan to hire this lady to make my wedding dress into a baby quilt and she also does T-shirt quilts for $120. You might look into her?
I don't really have an AW but yay for everyone else's. One month until Vegas though!
Shortgirl, I hope you love your car and that it serves you well for a long time.
With All the Trimmings
Just do it!
Leslie - do it! I have made 3 quilts - two small ones and a twin size - plus I used to help my Grandma with them. They're so much fun, and you'll be so proud when you complete one!
Angie - I just might!
Chelsea - Lauren and I went to high school together, so this SMP makes me doubly happy.
I absolutely love fall. September is just stepping stone on the way.
Leslie - I think that's great. Those quilts are beautiful. I've secretly always wanted to quilt, as well. I've also always wanted to be able to make my own clothes, too. But, I have yet to look into that, either.
November will be the best month this year!!!!!
EEE! That's awesome! Such a small world. She's pretty fabulous, and worked SO hard. I was excited to be able to get some recognition for her!
I will probably have a lot of Bingo Queen T-shirts for you quilt!!!!
Thanks for the link. I might look into her making that for me. I just wish she was local. Something about shipping all my shirts to her makes me so nervous.
Bio
I had some of mine made into t-shirt quilts last year by a lady and her mom.

They were very reasonable and I love them!!!!!
Absolutely!!
Thanks ladies for the congrats. It's an Accord.
Tiffany- I'm in a pretty positive mood as well and everyone around me IRL is just bickering with each other and as the complaining continues, the more I turn my volume up on the radio to tune them out!
Thanks!!! Considering that you, Stephie, Dana, and a few others are technically involved, I was hoping you'd see it!
Yes!!! Congrats!
Also, I was so busy yesterday I failed to see our picture on the blog! That made my day too.
She has been hired by a slew of stars, so I think she is pretty legit. There are other quilters but for some reason I feel like I can trust her with my wedding dress because Brangelina used her. Haha! If I could find someone local-local though (like DFW area) that would be awesome too. Wedding dress fabric is just so weird though, it seems like not a lot of people deal with it when it comes to quilts.
Jaymi - Did you buy Stephie's car? If so, that is awesome! If not, ummm...nevermind, excuse me for being nosy!
I just remembered that I do have an AW today: As of today it is 100% legal for me to sell cakes out of my home. I no longer have to be clandestine and worry about the health department slapping me with thousands of dollars in fines. Woo hoo!
My grandmother gave me the makings of a quilt, I guess that's what you would call it. It would be the top part of a quilt and it's made up of dresses/outfits that her mom made her and her siblings growing up and on her last visit, she was looking at it and recalling each outfit; "This was my favorite dress, I wore it to the first dance of the year. Oh, now this is my favorite skirt..." Thanks for sharing that link because it just gave me the idea to give it to her for Christmas!
Julie- Thank you so much for this rec. I just might contact them. I need to go home and count my t-shirts first to see what the price would be. They are actually right around the corner from my best friends apartment so I am going to ask if they will let me drop my t-shirts off instead of shipping them!
Thanks again!
Going to check out the blog now!
I was going to ask why TODAY it's legal and then I remembered, it's Sept. 1. Duh. I'm glad it has worked out for you. You can have a cake business in the back and then have your quilts up front
Yes, I did buy her car. I had been looking at a used CRV but then literally last weekend I decided to get an Accord or something similar that made more sense for us, which I've had in the past and loved and it just worked out. Win-Win. I'm glad I no longer have to look on Craigslist because that was overwhelming
A Stitch in Cake? Buttercream and Bedspreads? The name possibilities for that venture!
That's so great. I always love it when a situation works out so perfectly like that!
Today just seems like a good day for everyone. I am in a great mood.
Our CEO just left and his meeting was great not one thing about money or business was mentioned. It is refreshing to work for a company that continues to reinforce that the patients come first and then the people who work there are a clse second. He spent a good 15 minutes reminding everyone to nourish our own bodies (food and exercise) and make sure we have work life balance then gave away $50 giftcards and instrcuted us to use it on a loved one who sacrifices their time with us so we can be here and help our patients. Seriously in awe.
Edited for my mis-use of their/there. Was typing fast and excited lol
BL, that really is incredible. What a fantastic company to work for!
This is awesome!
I moseyed over there, and one of the blogs you follow (Fertile Ramblings) is a good friend of mine IRL!
Wow that is awesome!

What a small world! I started reading her blog years ago when I found it while lurking on TN. She and others used to post here often.
I second that. That is really awesome that you are part of a company that looks to the health/well-being of their employees rather than just their output.
McG, I finally found your blog, and it is great!
"...And he just came out of my imaginary birthday cake." -its apelila
Agree, it must be a great place to work!!
No real AW here... Yesterday, I finished reading Art of Racing in the Rain (I had to pick it up since I saw so many positive comments about it) and loved it! Coincidentally, I'm going to see a movie about Ayrton Senna tomorrow since DH loves anything related to racing.
Yay for a four day weekend :-)!
